I skipped work this morning due to waiting at bus stop in actual -15 F, windchill -30 F with like 20 mph winds.

Saturday, it is supposed to be 40 F and raining.

Somebody actually used Second Life for business purposes.

Had my first day working at the University of Michigan today! First 3.5 hours was orientation-covering how cool it is that I work for the university, benefits, parking (don't), getting my picture ID, etc. The second half of the day was helping out with an event; Cecilia Muñoz speaking about immigration policy. It was an interesting and hectic day, and at the end of it there were tiny pies!

A toss-up between here and Good Times. I have officially been offered a position at University of Michigan's Ford School of Public Policy. It sounds like an awesome position and all the people seem great. It pays more than I currently get but rent is also way more expensive in Ann Arbor so it should balance. Great benefits and lots of paid time off.

On my drive to work this morning, got stuck behind a car doing 12 mph and swerving all over the lane. When I finally got a chance to pass, I saw someone literally hunched over a cellphone. Part of the drive that should've taken 15 seconds took 4 minutes. >_<

I agree; Victoria's Secret gives out coupons for free underpants every other month or so. That's always fun to go into the store and get something for free.

Seconding Zara's suggestion of Sophie's World. I love that book. But personally in your situation I'd just give up on the person if they didn't want to skim over the difference of belief.

Gen Con. Just, Gen Con.
It's absolutely magical to be in a place with 50,000 people who all get me. Where I can solicit any random stranger at 1 am for a game of Red Dragon Inn.

Also, working running game demos for Slugfest for 8 hours was intense, but fun. Fastest 8 hours evar. And my RPG I pre-regged for was the best con game I've ever played. Got to see old high school friends, spent time with kashan, and all dreth's friends seem cool. Drank the most delicious cappuccino that has ever existed. And only bought things that I've actually been using. Four solid days of good tiiiiimeeesssss.

Classic, we will not make you sing, and I promise that Kashan and my singing is not painful!

Last night I dreamt that the Angry Video Game Nerd and I, guided by Twink from Rainbow Brite, had to play a good video game together to bring joy and color back to the world.

I think I also dreamt about not being able to sleep. I hate that.

My heat kicked on a few times this weekend.

Got invited to my karaoke DJ's wedding, which I thought was pretty cool in itself. Then two days before said wedding, he texts me and asks if I want to actually run the music for the ceremony and reception, because the other DJ fell through. So I showed up early today, helped decorate a little, and learned what some of the fiddly knobs on the setup do. I tend to find weddings tedious, so having a job to do made it a lot better.

But how does it taste?

Also, I made cupcakes to eat while watching Sharknado. http://www.flickr.com/photos/45353012@N02/9285990481/#in/photostream

Weather here's about as swamp-like as one might expect. Not impressive on it's own, but what's killing me is that inside my office it's cold enough I need two sweaters, and outside I need negative one.

Last night I braved the 86 degree heat and baked cupcakes anyway. Totally worth it.
Not just any cupcakes. White chocolate chip cupcakes with raspberry jam centers, topped with raspberry rosewater vanilla buttercream frosting. So. Good.

I was inspired by my new body wash. :D

In 4th grade I tied a kid's shoelaces to the underside of the wooden platform of the jungle gym. He couldn't figure out how to get un-stuck, and I got in trouble.

Last night I had a dream wherein I psychoanalyzed my dreams from a couple nights ago. When I woke up I was all, "Oh, yeah that was obviously what that was about."

On my way across state, the freeway I was on was suddenly closed, no warning before the last exit, and they diverted all traffic (at about 5 mph) onto a different freeway. I took the first exit which dumped me into the middle of Flint, Michigan. (If you know, then you'll understand.) Thank goodness for my GPS or I would've been freaking the hell out. Turned out it was due to an overturned semi accident a couple hours earlier.
