Let's do this.

Copper.

You're not fit to command this base. I can see now you never were.

I killed one of those Things while you sat on your hands like a damn fool, and this is how you repay me? You're one of 'em Garry! See if you ain't!

I want results, gentlemen. I want to see these Things burning and I want to be roasting my marshmallows on the pyre.

MacReady.

I throw my dynamite at Blair.

I use my Hammertime.

Blair, use your test.

I don't think Fuchs is a Thing.

:(

Gentlemen, we're in trouble.

I'd like to hear a REALLY good reason why Blair shouldn't self-test IMMEDIATELY from someone other than Blair.

If you're a Thing, well, then you've already blown your wad in a very suspicious manner and are probably expendable, allowing you to pull these sorts of tricks, and a scan will out you anyway.  The 'I'm priming my dynamite and killing whoever votes for me' ploy, while verifying that no one could shut down your power, is also crazy suspicious.

Rather than potentially wasting more innocents, I think the best thing to do is scan Fuchs.

Windows, this logic is almost as flawed as Fuchs's. It seems to be a trend that we're entertaining the notion that these FRANKENSTEINS are going to be pulling crazy tricks to out-think us, but suppose for a second that you are one of them. They are afraid and outnumbered. They will play it safe, not grandiosely fool and prank us!

I don't think the monsters would ever so violently risk one of their own number unless they absolutely had to, and even then they'd want to see him voted for, not dynamite. It might be falling into their trap to say, "Why would a Thing ever ask to be dynamited?" but from a statistical point of view, wouldn't they rather waste a test while they're at it by pushing to have him examined first? If Fuchs is one of these ABNORMALITIES, then surely the others would be telling him to not even mention the idea of dynamiting him in case it put ideas in our heads.

... More to the point, hopefully if you got enough intelligent beings together, the majority would rule that what Fuchs has done is rather silly. I know we have!

So you're saying it's safer to throw our dynamite now? I think you've cracked your pot, old boy.

If any of you lads have dynamite, at least hold off for Fuchs' explanation before you start hurling it around!

Also, I guess I was just waking up, but yeah doing Blair is EXTREMELY important, too, given his actions so far. I thought about waiting till tomorrow to say this, but I could be a BRICK SHITHOUSE by then.

MacReady
Blair
Childs
Bennings
Garry
Windows

Right now Fuchs might seem crazier than a Taimanin Asagi girl, but he's right, by God. I'm hoping someone will arrive at a more decisive decision soon, since all this talk is making my head spin faster than a Giga Drill Breaker, but I think Windows, Macready, Childs and Garry are our top testing targets.

Also, I helped myself to Norris's anime collection, I hope nobody minds.

So here's a few observations I've made (consider this post OOC):

Nauls is not helping anyone. Anyone who asks to be tested repeatedly is not a Thing, but completely unhelpful to the team. Not only with the Things never turn someone who asks to be tested every day, rendering the entire process useless, but if that person suddenly stops asking to be tested one day, it will be a dead giveaway that they have become a Thing.

As Fuchs said earlier, let's save self-testing for turn 6 or so, and if we're still completely blind to who's who by then, then the Things will probably have already won.

Finally, I'm honestly unclear on what "Thing-like" behaviour I've performed, but w/e. The way Blair was vehemently pursuing Childs as a target, then suddenly and abruptly stopped creeped me out more than some creepypasta I've read and it doesn't sit right with me. But, whatever, the most common badguy tactic is to post as little as possible, as Ziiro handily demonstrated last game. Sometimes it's not even an actual tactic, they just forget.

Please consider all this advice as being delivered from a proven Innocent. On that note, I'd like to request to not be tested again for at least two days, possibly three. As you all said, something about my playstyle makes people jittery, which makes people jump at off-hand comments and therefore makes me a very poor target for Thing assimilation. I would expand on this, but it's not really in my best interests, since if I get turned, I want you guys to know as little about how I would operate as a Thing as possible.  :whoops:

Unhand me, you jackanapes! I hope you're proud of yourselves for siding with ODIOUS NUISANCES and ignorance!

Well maybe NOW you'll listen to some old-fashioned reason.

Garry.

Gentlemen, please.

We have not the time to test innocents, and there are people acting far more suspicious than me. If you truly wish to find an ABOMINATION, then I appeal to you as men of science, vote for someone other than me. Not to sound petulant, but "he is playing defensive and not making meaningful posts" is a shallow indication of a BEASTIE.

Fuchs is not joining in with your bandwagon on me and he's the one with the dynamite, so I'm inclined to do what he wants, as a brave, foolish man. He's after that rabid dog Blair, a man I vehemently insist we either test or put down.

(Can we extend this day a bit?)

I'm thinking... Copper?

Quote from: W Brimlair
I really do think either Gary, Copper, Bennings or Norris is one of the first two Things or maybe is one now anyway.

So I'm leaving my vote on him now, though I do suspect Dr. Copper more.

My vote is for Dr. Copper but I think we should test Palmer as soon as possible with the next rando-test.

Actually on second thought, fine. Just test Palmer, he's weird.

But if he's Human it's gonna increase my suspicion of Childs and Copper.

Well, gentlemen, I won't lie, Blair has it in for me. He's jumping up and down like it's one of those damned Werewolf games we played to while away the nights. But this is no game, man, lives are at stake. I won't be accused so blatantly of being one of these ghastly CREATURES without some kind of evidence to back it up! Why don't you share your reasoning with us, Blair?

I'm actually more concerned that Blair directed accusations at Childs on Day 1, then those accusations dried up come the next morn! Perhaps because Doctor Blair now knows Child's true identity, since he's the one who infected him and turned him into a BUG-EYE!

Lay it out straight, gents:

Childs because I think he was turned and,

Garry, because THAT GUY'S A MANIAC, and giving the taxing nature of his duties, whether he's a man or a DROOLING BEAST, his posting style would be exactly the same, and I don't intend to be ousted by a DEMON who is so uninterested in devouring us he'd rather go balance the station's books!

Well all I see is a bunch of men behaving badly. You might as well just shoot me if you're not going acknowledge that we're a family, and family matters. Now we've got a full house here, so I'll be the nanny if need be, because I'm mad about you, all of you. I'm feeling good enough that these wings of mine roseanne the news on the news radio is that we're fresh princes. Still, we're gonna need some good old-fashioned home improvement if we're gonna survive. I know some of you are married with children, even if you have some simpsons, but we're all friends here.

Well, that sassy, uzi-toting gent irks my well-mannered demeanor almost as much as that abominable THE THING, but I have to agree with him!

Fuchs is onto something. While he might have been Too Stupid To Live in the movie, much as my own good self, this one seems to be some sort of mathematician, and I can tell you now, no Thing would ever put so much effort into doing maths, if only because the humiliation associated with being tested anyway would spell doom for such a beast's self-esteem.

Speaking of the super-intelligent being exempt from testing, we just witnessed Palmer not only staunchly refusing a self-test, but doing the exact opposite of Fuchs's advice of doing the testing on people who hadn't posted yet, hence why I was holding off on posting. Palmer, my boy, you're a Thing.

True to movie form, I will accomplish nothing then die in a humiliating fashion.
