Jade Cocoon goggles (not even Miyazaki art can save this game...)

yeah well like me and jade coccoon didn't need you around here anyway man

(that was actually Miyazaki?  that's pretty cool, I knew the design was something amazing and not often seen)

No, the artist behind Jade Cocoon and its sexier, younger sister, Jade Cocoon 2, as well as all those Ghibli films is Katsuya Kondo.

And, also, Jade Cocoon is pretty cool considering how unfinished it is. Jade Cocoon 2 is awesomer.

I played Front Mission 3 to death in high school.  I was able to play this game with a madcatz DVD remote for the PS2.  I used gamefaqs to figure out how to get a late-game training map early on from the 'internet' so that after completing one attack in the trainer, I'd get like 200 skill points because of the vast gap between my guys and the enemies.  Repeat this about five or six times and all of a sudden you are VERY good with your weapons very early in the game.

Also I loved the missile skill that emptied the entire brick into one enemy.  That thing was great for hard targets.

You know, despite not really being a musical powerhouse and having some really crappy tracks (battle theme) they really got it right at a few points in the game (main theme, village theme) (ok maybe that's just a result of there being like 5 tracks in the game)

Rolled shotgun and fist with my main guy, gave everyone else machine guns. I think one fella had a missile launcher, which was done more for variety than anything else, and a shot-lived attempt to make the flamethrower worth half a damn. I wanted to like that thing.

If it turns out to be Front Mission 6, here's hoping we get a halfway decent online element to this thing. Good turn-based multiplayer's been sparse since Advance Wars, and I'd love something like two-on-two or co-op vs CPU.

New Front Mission is a third-person Mechassaulty kinda deal. I'm suddenly feeling a lot less optimistic about this game.

More details when it's E3 time.
