What turned me off of Spore the most is that none of your creativity mattered in the actual gameplay. The critters were just bunches of stats dressed up in neutered trappings that yearned to mean something.

Ex fucking actly.

The only place where your choices really mattered was the Cell stage, easily the most enjoyable stage in the game.

I don't know if this discussion is done or what, but Will Wright isn't interesting or a visionary and always makes the same game, over and over

:wrong:

SimEarth. SimAnt. SimLife. SimCity 2000. Post-Sims, sure, he churned out a lot of (extremely lucrative) crap, but faulting Will Wright for lack of creativity in general is just plain wrong.

Let's give credit where credit is due.

I finally have a computer that can run this.

The game is SORT of fun, but not VERY fun. The terrain is boring and the minigames and battles are retarded. And you can only use creatures from the creator in the Tribe section which sucks.

It's like someone went HOW CAN WE DO THE WORST GAMEPLAY DECISIONS ALL THE TIME and then DID THEM

and for the love of god who made the I Hunger creature it killed me like eighty times

They wanted the game to be accessible.

That means piss-easy and dead boring, and whatever impractical bullshit creature you make is just fine, it's all just numbers.

it's not just -easy-, it's too -simple-. They just stopped the innovation dead when the gameplay came.

Again: collection of minigames.

Maybe if they had rigged it somehow so that you only play each stage in rapidly accelerating microsecond intervals...

I liked the space stage. But then I found out that no matter how far away I go in the galaxy, everything I find will be the same. I mean, the aliens are different, but they sell the same things, the planets are the same stuff and you know.

Anyway, I'm pretty sure I've wiped out 50% of the Grox planets, but I don't know if I'll ever go back and finish them all. Not to mention the planets I can't get to because they're too far away.

And I'm not really caring about the expansion.

Meet Sebastian. He's a giant fly... thing. They have a full set of bug-themed vehicles and buildings.

So how does the making friends thing work? My account (brother's account actually) is Guiox so anyone looking to see some of my creations can I don't even know how to do it. But if it helps, my account is Guiox or something. I made a rabbite and a sperm.

Let's share our Spore universes! Let's become... friends!

I've got Zaratustra on my friends list, but it must be an old account or something, because it says he's only made 5 creations. If you guys want to add me, I'm on there as 'jsnlxndrlv'.
