It was pretty readable on my old standard definition TV, but that thing was pretty big.

It's not much of a problem for me now.  ::D:

Oh, oh, oh, what is this?  Is this a 'How awesome my HD is' contest?  I must take a photo when I get home.

More Penny Arcade Adventures: Episode 2 stuff

So far, a great damn improvement over Episode 1. More variety, more types of enemies, more areas, more structure, and just a bunch more game in general.

There are a few annoyances here and there: most notable is that Gabe's special attacks are a lot more difficult to pull off than Tycho's and especially the PC's, and since you can only get attack-boosting overkills using special attacks, he'll usually be significantly underpowered compared to them.

Hmm. For me, Gabe gets his overkills maxed so fast that I need to hold him back so the others can earn some, just like in ep1.

I find this hilariously appropriate.

I seem to be having problems unlocking the Steel Cannibals achievement. I've upgraded each character's weapons twice (Hoe of the Future, Omnibus Shotgun, Iron Maiden Gauntlets), but still I've got 610 Machine Parts and no achievement. Clearly, I'm missing something.

That final boss was so overwhelmingly meh. I hardly broke a sweat, then I got all pumped up for the expected big finale, and then that happened. Ehhhhhhh.

I guess they went that way to avoid a final boss that could have been essentially The Silent One Mark II, but in a way I think I would have preferred that.

Also:
Dr Blood
's assist is spectacularly lame, considering the kind of character he's meant to be.

I've been blasting through Penny Arcade Adventures Episodes 1 & 2 for the past couple of days, and I have to say: they're really tremendously fucking fun. When the shit did that happen?

It's probably the Overkills. It wasn't until, like, halfway of my first play through Episode 2 that I figured out how useful these are. This time, though? Maxed out, each character, both games. Also? Overkills make badguys explode, violently, which is a beautiful touch.

Right now I'm almost finished with my Insane Mode run on Episode 2. Also? All achievements. First game I can say that I've done that with.

Weird. I just met
Charles
, got into the initial fight where he escapes... and right after he ran away, the game quit and took me back to the PS3 menu. Good enough time for a break, I guess.

Also, the Mind Game thing was stupid and boring. It's the only real complaint I have about either of these chapters so far, though.

And I kind of liked the Mind Game.

Oh hey, Episode 3 has started. Kind of.

I only post this because if it wasn't for my RSS reader I would have completely missed it.

Jerry's writing has pretty much always been the strongest asset of the games for me so I'm actually rather looking forward to this.

Oh, Sweet! They're actually making a new Penny Arcade Adventures... sort of. It's not being made by Hothead, but by the guy who made Cthulu Saves the World and Breath of Death VII, so it's have more of a SNES quality to it.

Huh.  Sort of a no-brainer when you think about it.

I never finished Ep1 but the gameplay was decent and it made me laugh.

Was nice that it was multiplatform; dunno about Zeboyd inasmuch as Breath/Cthulhu have been made in C#.

You should really play Ep. 2. Everything the first game did the second does way better.

And I know a lot of people thought the final boss fight was kind of weak, but the near penultimate fight is gloriously awesome (
you do battle with giant Fruit Fucker's metal wang as it has sex with a giant, orange-shaped structure
).
