In fact, generally in comp, airshotting isn't seen all that much anyway. This is because all the soldiers/demos are so damn good at airstrafing. When it's seen it's usually something like defending the spire of badlands or point c on gravelpit.

Here's an interesting question for you guys: How many ShMo regulars have played a comp game more than once?

Never, though I guess I would if I landed into that sort of position.  However, I don't think 6v6 2Scout /2Soldier / 1Demo / 1Medic captures the spirit of TF2. I prefer my big games with lots of variety and interesting situations.

Had a few bouts here and there with Apocalypse and EXpertise. Not a fan of comp, spy being my main and all, though my soldier and demo are much better as a result.

Yeah, I would like to give the comp format a shot once in a while.  I'm not too good with explodey, but I can heal and stay out of the line of fire pretty well.

A note: 6v6 is less a concession of 'optimal team size' but more of a 'What is the smallest teams we can get away with and still have a good game, because we want the team format to be as accessible as possible.

6v6 is kinda spartan in my eyes, even though it is technically still a 'fine way to play'. Still unless I played the game serious enough to wanna join a team ladder, PUGs just seem like an ugly way to play.

Yeah, I remember our discussion on that.  Sucks, but getting 24 people together is hard as hell.

Going back to randomness and pokemon, aren't moves like minimize and whatever else that increases evasion on yourself still banned for obvious reasons?

Also, Buff Banner mini-crits may not do as much damage, but the fact that it's a wide area effect is what makes it pretty much just as good, I usually look for a heavy before I use it.

I think Evasion moves are banned too, but I'm not sure about anymore.  Whenever a major release comes out they scrap the rules and see if they need to be reimplemented.  I don't know how the current environment works.

Pokemon rules tend to allow Spikes and Stealth Rock bullshit too, which is like the Pokemon version of sticky spawn camping. And that's no good.

Thus proving that Bleck is a terrible person again.

P.S. Spikes and Stealth Rock are perfectly good moves with pretty valid strategies.

P.P.S. Even sticky spawn camping isn't that big a deal if you're on your spawn and know what you're doing.

When the weapon was announced, some people were like AAA OH GOD, but really the DH is kinda underpowered, ESPECIALLY for comps, since spam is so useful. Some ladders might still be going with the initial hype, but I'm not sure. I know some major ladders have allowed it, yet I still haven't seen it. Which says a lot.

There was also that FUCKING MINICRITS DUE TO WEIRD PLAYERCLIPP issue

My favorite thing about spikes (and it's relatives) is that the move created an interesting metagame that made a few pokemon that would not normally ever see use useful for their ability to get rid of / ignore the spikes.

And you should only die to sticky camping once, twice if you're tired.

If you're good, yeah. Kind of sucks when you're wondering where your team is and five of them can't get out of spawn because they haven't figured out that you can't doublejump/cloak/sandvich through stickies.

It's been said before, but usually when confronted with such a team, spawn camping is the least of your concerns.

I love crits. Crits is my best friend. Don't take away my crits. I am the king of all scrubs and I don't care who knows it.

The Huntsman is more fun to use than the regular rifle because with the Huntsman I can at least occasionally luck out and kill something.

Stealth Rock does not have a TF2 equivalent, because there's no single gameplay element in TF2 that has become so disproportionately dominant that every strategy is focused around implementing or countering it.
