Maxed my Medic. Not too bad on the speed when you're averaging double to three times the EXP as anyone else in the game
Most abilities in the "General" tab are a must for all classes. The only one I didn't take is grenade shooting - too difficult to pull off in a pinch. The only one I'm unsure of is downed fire. It makes you incredibly fragile while downed, but the ability to keep gunning people down full force after a 1-1.5 second delay is amazing. I'll probably respec out of it in time.
As for medic abilities:
-Adrenaline Boost? In a coordinated environment it would be absolutely vital. In a pub environment? There's not enough indication to show players that they are invulnerable and they should act accordingly.
-Transfer Supplies? Motherfucker please, I am too busy spending mine to rez people to give it out for petty shit like ammo, turrets and buffs.
-Metabolism? I'm still not entirely sure how effective this is. "Lets your teammates health regenerate faster than normal." I will have to do more testing, but I'm unsure if this is delay before regen starts or the speed at which you regen is increased.
-Speed boost? Kind of garbage. It's something like 5 seconds of speed, and it's just not enough to warrant the point.
-Self Resurrection? Oh fuck yes. This is amazing. Second best point to spend in the medic tree - long cooldown, but considering the tactical use it's an acceptable cooldown.
-Lazarus Grenade? Fucking mindblowing. It's a grenade that will give every friendly in the explosion radius a revive syringe. Approximately 30 second cooldown. This thing will turn a fight around around.
You should be taking any of the passives in the medic tree. They're too good to pass up.
Ok. I'm hearing a lot of mixed things about this game. I think it looks pretty good and I'm always interested in shooters with medics but there is only one copy availble for rent in town and it's checked out. Chances of me renting it in the next few months are pretty slim.
But I recently came into money with the string attached being that I can't spend it on anything sensible. So I figured GREAT. I can by Brink. But between several lackluster reviews and two real life people saying it's slow, buggy, and not fun I'm not too enthused.
Is it worth buying now or waiting 6 months and renting it?
I assume you'd be looking into it for console? That's not something I can rightly endorse at the moment. My friends bought it for the Xbox - I'll see if I can try their version later and get back to you about it.
