Joxam, that would really, really suck. I'm a little depressed by that and I wasn't even there.

Please remember you non-vegetarians, there are no cows like the cows at Milliways.

I'm going to go eat some pigs now. Laters.

Sometimes you get the bear, and sometimes the bear gets you.

'Bout sums up my view on the vegetarian thing.

Also: I can't even begin to contemplate how traumatizing that would be Joxam. Like geez, if one of these guys has no compunctions about killing a dog like that, I'm sure they could have found a second guy to do the playing.

Dare I ask what your mom thought once she found out?

Eh she didn't know until afterwards and didn't really say much other than, "I'm sorry." But she never made me go back so.

Dear Joxam. It is a sad thing you have told me and I am now saddened by your thing. If it helps, in China they raise a specific breed of meal dogs much in the way you'd raise beef cattle. They are butchered the Chinese way: quick.

They don't let kids play with them. That might ruin the flavor... of the kids.

When I hear of an opportunity to try a new food, I do. I've eaten rat, snake, alligator, kangaroo, snail, assorted bugs (ants, cockroach, crickets, grasshoppers, spiders, worms, grubs; most fried, some raw), liver, tongue, heart of various animals, every kind of edible plant imaginable, roadkill turkey (had a crazy neighbor who found out I was just as crazy that thanksgiving), possum, oyster, eggs (ostrich, emu, salmon, some other fish), chicken feet, pig feet and finally sheep placenta, to name a few of the more mentionable ones. The rat had burned hair around the legs and head and was on a wooden stick. The worms were when I was a kid and liked eating stuff I'd find outside. The sheep placenta was well prepared and presented but frankly gross. Escargot I tried because of Earthbound and found the texture a bit revolting. I'm apparently allergic to oysters, but tried one recently. Equally revolting texture. For some reason octopus tentacles aren't bad fried despite a similar texture.

I've avoided brain because I heard of a viral protein disease you can catch from even cooked brains. Dunno if that's a legend or what.

Pretty sure that's just human brains. Not an expert though!

I'm neutral on oysters, actually liked the escargot I've had. Octopus requires proper preparation before I'll like it. Some people cook them too long and they become too chewy, which is pretty yuck.

Speaking of yuck, real French cuisine is super heavy; butter, cream, jesus christ French food I just want my food to go down, not slide through my alimentary canal.

But if you want to gain your enemy's powers you GOTTA eat his brain.

I mean, come on guys, this is basic stuff.

But if you want to gain your enemy's powers you GOTTA eat his heart.

I mean, come on guys, this is basic stuff.

Sucking out his last breath works in a pinch too.

I thought it was the heart you had to eat. You only ate the brain if you needed his knowledge specifically.

Brain makes me pretty queasy, but the only times I've had them obviously in front of me were in a lab. So!

Unless they're those palms with the eyes in them. That can get tricky. Not as bad as the Wizards with hairy palms, but still pretty bad.

Nonsense!  The seat of knowledge may be the brain, but the seat of power is the heart.

Last week I ate the heart of a bull, and it made me mighty indeed.

Baby squid is pretty good. (Especially cooked nitsuke style.) I think calimari pretty much ensured no one finds squid "weird" any more, but this is the place to mention it.

Probably refers to prions.

the seat of power is the heart.
Actually, it's power-butt.

Cow tongue, when the skin is properly removed, is possibly the best most tender and delicious meat on the planet. Forever.
Cow tongue is fucking delicious, but there's so much saturated fat and cholesterol. QQ

E.g. 3oz portions: flank (15% dv sat fat, 15% cholesterol) vs tongue (35% dv sat fat, 37% cholesterol).

Tongue happens when cow gets butchered twice. Now, it's...

DOUBLE BEEF

(P.S. Lamb tongue is not nearly as juicy or flavorful, IMO. Have had it both home-stewed and in tacos.)
