Cladun x2

Out, as of yesterday.

Basically more of the same as what you got in the first game, with some expanded customization dialog and (from what I can tell so far) less of the dialog that made the first one lovable (or annoying, depending on your take).

More info on NeoGAF and NISA's Cladun x2 homepage.

Juicy details about which classes get what bonuses when leveled as sub or main, etc, will probably show up sooner or later on the Japanese Cladun x2 wiki. Go, go, GadgetGoogle Translate!

Getting lots of mileage out of the aint class. Maining guardian is great for getting circles to level more party members, but the guardian circles tend to be a bit worse for pumping attack than those of, say, saint.

Spear's hitbox is pretty neat. Dagger's damage and crit are gratifying. So far, I'm not liking swords at all, and the loss of a shield and slow swing speed for hafted weapons (axes/maces) isn't really doing it for me.

Reasonably far into the game, and it seems my initial suspicions about how thin the story was are confirmed.

Perfect World (or something like that) 1 was great leveling when I got to it. High level monsters of non-threatening types, in non-threatening environments, that can mostly be baited and separated.

The 20th Magic Circle for the Wizard class (lv56) has no-heal on it, which is a bit of a setback, but...

It gives a 9x mana block and 8 attack tiles, meaning you can go pretty wild with join blocks to get your attack to ludicrously high levels. This is great for Trigeon, as the monsters will start at 1/4 your atk (or def, whichever is higher).

The down side is that your staying power sucks, if you're getting beat up, but it lets you access higher level loot pretty quickly.

Still haven't found anything as abusable as the final boss of Cladun 1, which was trivial to farm and ludicrously rewarding.
