Have you ever had a song stuck in your head for days on end? Of course you have. Have you ever had a song stuck in your head in such a strong way that you started memorizing the lyrics involuntarily? Possibly, I'm sure. But were the lyrics
in fucking Japanese? This horrible malady started while talking to a friend and I expressed the admittedly unfair statement that I've never heard a single good J-Pop track, so I came to the conclusion it is soulless garbage even compared to the worst commitee formed pop music in the western world. And they agreed in the grand scheme of things, but then she linked me a YouTube video of one that she thought was actually pretty good on its own merits.
And I made the awful mistake of listening to it. Not because it was bad! I have to say, it's definitely got it's own charm and thing going on. It's a mistake because it DOES NOT LEAVE MY HEAD EVER. And this is the first time I've not been able to scour away a song stuck in my head by drowning it out with other things. Try and imagine the horror on my face while listening to the guitar solo in Bark at the Moon and only being able to hear
RURANRA RURANRA RURANRA YAY YAY shouting... nay, *vociferating* over it.
For these reasons I have come to conclude it is not a song, but a memetically transferred contagious brain disease. So I post this here in hopes of afflicting you and maybe being freed of this burden in return. Come, drink in my sorrow. My shame. Listen to the opening of Carnival Phantasm, Super☆Affection. Cleanse me of this anguish.
