So my hopeful date of Jan 1st for an ek3 release is not going to happen. Newbie is still waiting on his old computer for the content everyone else sent him, and directly contacting those people reveals that they don't have copies of that content for me to regather piecemeal.
I have done my best to take hold of this thing, despite having no prior experience running a knorpse, and not really wanting to run it in the first place. As of this moment I do not believe we will see a full ek3 release for some time.
As I have previously promised, I will release my area alone if the masses so wish.
I do not want to do this. Many, many things will be unfinished. Artwork and story most of all. Lee-Ham has been great, but asking one man to do everyone's art is too much to ask. However, the main gameplay element, already heavily playtested by both myself and Niku, is present. The core of the story is there.
I will release my content, and ONLY my content, if the poll says so on Jan 1st. (The game will not be released on Jan 1st, but I will start work on it again and get it ready for a release, which should take about two weeks.)
Others who wish their content to be included in this release should confirm here in this thread one final time.
Keep in mind my area is... long. Niku took, what, 2-3 hours to clear it, all optional keys included? And that's Niku we're talking about.
Anyway, as the apparent leader of what remains of ek3, I feel it is my responsibility to finally make this thread. I will abide by the wishes of the public in this matter, because honestly, at this point I don't care. I wish my (and everyone else's) work could come with the trappings they deserve, but ek3 is/was the victim of brontapathy and I will not simply throw what I spent literally 50 hours+ making into the trash, not to mention the work Romosome has done on my area, or the work Lee-Ham has done with what art he HAS made, or anyone else's work.
I'm sorry it came to this, I really wanted to avoid it. But I feel like making you guys wait this long without your permission, at least, is wrong.
