On a non-racist yet stereotypical note, it always amuses me to see the look of shock on people's faces when I tell them I don't like Glee.  Being a transgender bisexual, and thus half the GLBT acronym, everyone assumes it has to be my most favoritest show EVAR.

They dropped the ball pretty hard on the "T" part when they did Rocky goddamn Horror with all the cross-dressing taken out.

So when I was in first grade, we had a girl who was basically a token black girl in the class.
I always thought she smelled unusual, and I never figured out why.
Sometimes people would bring in the smell of their dog or cat or whatever horrible filth they rolled around in the previous day to class, but she was the one black kid, and it was really far off from the "me smell" baseline that I used (something like a mix between overbaked raisins and raw/cooking potatoes, btw. Don't know what I smell like now).

I've met other people who smell really weird since then, but for a while I just thought that was how black people smelled.

One of my (racist) druggie acquaintances suggested that it might have been lingering weed smoke, but having smelled that on people in the recent past I can say that's not the case.

I'm honestly starting to feel that this isn't the kind of conversation we (caucasian males) can have honestly with any sort of minority around to hear it.  Ever.

Are you saying 50% Polish isn't a minority?

How dare you.

I see a headline that says Negros earthquake and my first instinct is to giggle instead of thinking "Oh, those poor people."

Oh I've got another one! We profile like fuck at work.

Though it's usually stuff like "Why is this 80-year old dude from Quebec with an incredibly white name calling Afghanistan?"

I've started avoiding Guatemalan customers at work because of the sheer number of people in the area who speak no English and still expect you to get them exactly what they want.

... well, suck it up. They're paying customers, so talk to them. Maybe learn some appropriate Spanish phrases to make dealing with them easier. Get some culture, man.

I've gotten pretty good at figuring out when my Taiwanese coworker is pretending not to understand me.  Still haven't figured out how to react other than barely restraining the urge to kick him in the back of the knee though.

The other day a friend of mine related that a coworker (I think at a restaurant?) who has been in the States for 30 years and speaks perfect English pretends that he can't any time the boss is around.  I brought up the scene with the two guards in Life of Brian.
