The only toys I ever enjoyed playing with as a child were ones I personally mangled. I wasn't as bad as the kid from Toy Story, but I did have a thing for cutting off their fingers with scissors.

...y'know, I was just thinking that, with no OMG NAVY to get in my way now, I could host Pyokon South Worst Convention Ever South.

Didn't you say the exact same thing a few years ago?

Anyone remember the Silverhawks toys?  Their arms kinda hooked on.  I used to remove them and swap them across different figures.

Similarly, with my Thundercats collection, I believe I went through several Snowmen of Hook Mountain, taking them apart and putting them back together again until they wouldn't hold together anymore.

The best thing about G.I. Joes were that they could do hurricane kicks.

A friend of mine had one of those die-cast Veritech fighters.  That thing was so badass, but if you played with them too much, the joints couldn't hold in place anymore.

I never intentionally removed the thumbs from G.I Joes, they just had a tendency to break off, as did that piece of rubber keeping their torsos and legs together. The legs and torso reunification was easy to fix, but they still had a hard time holding their weapons.

Yes, but this time, I MEAN it!

Seriously, I'm off active duty, which means I'll probably go to school and dink around in the Reserves for a few years, so during a little off time from school, badda bing badda boom, and we've got community funtime once again!

EDIT: ...Y'know what?  Fuckit.  Go check this thread.

And I remember when Jurassic Park came out, all I ever wanted for toys that year were the battle damage dinos.

Oh lawd, that reminds me. I used to take Gushers and squeeze out the insides to use as "blood" for epic dinosaur battles. The raptors would always end up winning because I only had a T-Rex with damage. They're still kind of sticky in places.

Thanks a lot, you jerk. Now I'm getting flashbacks to when I found my Stretch Armstrong facedown in a pool of corn syrup.

Snailiens!

I had every single one of those things. The best part was using the little rubber cups to shoot rocks at my sisters.  :glee:

The Dawn of the Super Soaker was truly a time of strife and revolution. I was equipped with a mere Super Soaker 30. Limiting me to guerilla tactics when faced with opponents equipped with the latest in Super Soaker 50 and 100 technology.

Quoted for absolute truth.  But I'm going to have to errata that to include some water balloons and other aquatic demolitions to cover my escapes.

Also: Slip n' Slides.

In my neighborhood the general goal was to maneuver into position to take advantage of any hoses equipped with pressure nozzles.

Pressure nozzles?  What happened to putting a finger over the end?

Sure, you'd do that too, but it doesn't afford the power of one of those gun grip pressure nozzles. Hitting someone 20 feet away with water so pressurized it hurts, that's just not happening with the thumb.

Even more dangerous if that hose was guarded by a dragon. (Read: Angry old people who don't want you fucking with their hose, or being on their nice lawn.)

My childhood shit...ah...memories.

Before you assume to much, no, it was  hardly all ::3: ::3:.  In fact, I can only remember owning a whopping FIVE transformers in my youth: Hound, Shockwave, Broadside (the sucky Triplechanger), Metroplex (No accessories, thought it was a big truck.  I mean come on, it had WHEELS.  Why would a CITY have wheels, said my 8 year old mind),  and lastly, the Dinobot Sludge.

But the toys I owned and remembered as fondly as ol' Sludge?  Me and my brother grew up po', so we took any gifts we could get.  Second-hand He-Mans.  A few Ninja Turtles.  Swamp Thing all up in here.  Z-Bots.  Mighty Max.  That one little rubber Hydra toy that Dr Forrester has in the MST3k movie for one scene.

I had this thing.

weighed a fucking ton, took a good minute or so to get the damn thing pumped up fully, and went from fully pumped to nothing in about 3 seconds.

Screw you guys.  I had that Channel 6 News Van AND the Turtle Van.

Until they were taken away when I would send them cruising right into my older sister's kneecaps.  :sadpanda:
