I'm not sure if it goes for all of us but a lot of us have more trouble getting ourselves to like other people than we have getting other people to like us.

I am extremely efficient at getting people to stop wanting to talk to me, which I am fully aware is a lot like being really good at snapping your own bones.

Huh, that honestly hadn't occurred to me. I mean I don't like to be annoyed, and sometimes I like to be by myself, but in general I'd say I like people. I wasn't necessarily talking about people here though, I know a lot of you have gone to cons, and I'm sure you've noticed the social skill of the average con goer. I think cons exist in the first place not because people need a place to gather for their niche hobby, but because the people with the niche hobbies need a social setting in which their social incompetency doesn't matter.

I'm just speaking for myself here, but my own issues with getting myself to like others stems from all the friends I've had that ditched me for the cool kid crowd that got their rocks off from tormenting me, eventually becoming part of the group themselves and effectively shattering my trust in other people for what I think will be the rest of my life.

I can't really look at people without imagining the number of ways they can and possibly will fuck me over somehow.

I had a totally fine social life until high school where I had people picking on me for no reason, or they'd make up things about me to make fun of.  Fucking douchebags.  Also, I had a lot of really shitty friends that ditched me frequently and then a couple friends that were so bad they just made me way too wary of most other females forever.  Also, most of my friends have always been male anyway, which just generally leads to less issues socially.

Ditto.

I've discovered something in this life:

Guys are shitfucking assdicking cocksmurfing fucksticks who place ego above reason, pride above friendship, and control above love.

Girls are worse.

In my experience, at least guys are generally pretty honest about how they feel about you (I'm talking friendship context, not relationship).  If a guy doesn't like you, he tells you.  Girls go around and talk shit behind your back and then act friendly when they see you but they secretly want to punch you in the head.

I think you're being a little unfair.

I mean at least half of all guys have never once smurfed a cock.

I'm the opposite but it doesn't get me anywhere in life. I guess that explains why the first way is more popular.

No, trust me, you're the same, you're just being dishonest about it.

Yeah, even when I can see the reason in something, there's a good chance I'll still ego-trip if the possibility is there.  Not so much the pride above friendship part though since I have this tendency to do dumb things for the sake of friendship.

One time in highschool, on the way to school, one of my female friends looks at me and goes 'Hey Alex, should I flash the bus behind us?'.  Being a normal male of 15, I shrug and tell her to go for it.  So when we're in the principal's office getting scolded, I just stand up and say the whole thing was my idea and I put her up to it.

Out of school suspension for a week!  :perfect:

As for control above love...well...

Shit, I dunno.  My whole thing with control comes into play only when it comes to planning things.  My mom, brother and sister were all people who no sense of urgency at all, so I'm an asshole when it comes to being punctual about anything.

Then I went and made a lot of friends who like to do things at the drop of a hat. :hurr:
