Pokemon Interest Thread
« on: July 31, 2009, 09:44:45 AM »

Interest goes here plus interest for additional modes. Note your interest in all modes. Note that additional modes beyond Singles and Doubles will open up if you can get four independent nations to participate.

Also post concerns suggestions etc here.

Myself? I'm down for both the Singles and the Doubles and I'm open to the idea of any other modes. I use the DS and can adapt to NetBattle, I suppose.

I also want to see if we are going to use actual DS connections or NetBattle, or mix the two depending on availability. So post your interest to help determine the outcome!

I will do singles on ShoddyBattle if we are running UU pokemon only. Otherwise it isn't fun.

I agree to a UU battle, which makes a possible two nations interested assuming me and yyler do not band together.

I might be up for that, possibly, with the caveat that having never used ShoddyBattle before, my team is likely to be some cheesily predictable team ripped straight from the forums no matter what we do, but I'll STILL probably lose.

I don't mind what your team is so long as you know what UU is and conform to it.

ShoddyBattle is a Java app. We can run our own server assuming someone has SSH control to a server somewhere (I don't have it). We don't need to, by any means, however. It is a very easy program to learn.

So you're down for UU, Newbie?

I don't think there are any real predictable teams for UU. I will be making a list for the Singles/Doubles so that people don't show up with Mewtwo/Garchomp/Lugia, though.

Yeah, I'm down for UU. (There's no way I'd be able to gear up for actual combat in Platinum in time, and that'd be an awful lot of work for my inevitable emasculation.)

Ooh, my best friend Absol is on that list.  Looks like shiny team might actually be useful for a change.

Always going to angle for free versions anyone can download over legitimate systems.  So Netbattle or whatever preferred, because even someone who has never played a pikkymens can throw together a team and try.

Am in for just about any non-doubles contest, preferably over Shoddy because I haven't bothered to start Platinum yet and I'm sure there'd be something new in there I'd want to use.

One caveat is to my knowledge ShoddyBattle doesn't even support doubles

This may no longer be true however

Cross-Post

So.. confirm yourself? Do we wanna bracket or round robin?

Looks like we have enough interest for Singles and Doubles.
