I'd count that as a victory.
Until I finally get to a Wii-Fii and :wuv: smash you.

Super-lame match! Best of five, no items, three stock, boring levels only!

I thought I had him. Won three times in a row, and according to the terms of my challenge!

...But he thought we were sparring. Unwinding after a long day. I wouldn't take the championship from a man who didn't realize he was competing.

(I even had a video lined up and everything...)

I'll admit it. I was defeated. Let there be no confusion. Yet we instantly agreed to a rematch, and I came back at maximum murder-fury.

But even after destroying Bongo with eight consecutive victories before Snakeiciding myself into a comical end of my comedic rage... I am uneasy. Could it be..

That Doom is not invincible?

I had no idea what to expect coming into this championship thing, but thanks to Doom's showmanship I am glad it is turning out the way it has been.

I already know Doom isn't invincible.  I just don't care to inflate his ego any further by winning *gasp* non-consecutively.

Bongo wanted to do it with Four Stock, Best of Five, Random Stages and Characters.

I had to beat Captain Falcon, Falco and Wolf with.. Two Mr Game and Watches, Marth and a Young Link. Holy crap.

Then we sparred a lot and I 3 stocked his Marth with my Yoshi. Two KOs with one Smash Ball, followed by Egg Throw stealing a second Smash Ball and then fire-balling him to death when he tried to suicide.  :slow:

McDohl wanted the same thing, almost. Random stages, random characters, 3 stock, best of five, medium items.

I cast him aside so casually that I had to ask him if he'd actually played Brawl before.

Did he really think his weak fist could touch me? Do you think that losing my Wave Bird will temper my ambitions! Bah!

I came very close against Doom yesterday, a few times.

And then.. I just couldn't push him over the edge.  Seriously, he'd be on his last life, at 100%, and I'd be at like 20%, and I couldn't get that last smash on him.

I beat his Samus with my Ike, because I finally decided AGAINST using a ton of side-B against a projectile character, but that was my only win.

After a half-hour, I began to lose heart, and ten minutes later, I left.  After such close calls, and Doom's constant taunting, I just didn't feel like going on.

Well doom's Kirby online is King Nigger, crowned to rule over the kingdom of assholes and scrubs until the stars should fall from the skies. If it were an in-person match i could have airdodged his incessant Cutterspam. Or just hit him in the face.

yes, the 1sec lag (which Doom claims not to have, but I don't see how that's possible) makes things very difficult

I got lag even when hosting against McDohl.  I think your connection to the brawl servers can sometimes be more important than geographical lag.

The lag is not the issue here, Nor. I'm talking about Kirby Stone immunity, Nor. Immune to even many final smashes, you DO NOT... Also, Nor, King Nigger is not the preferred nomenclature. Nubian Pharaoh, please.

EVERYONE has 1s lag, guys.  It's a built-in feature to compensate for real 0-1000ms lag.  Being good at online first involves learning how to compensate for it, which is why when I go online I tend to go running off the edge of the stage.

Still closer to being able to beat Doom than most of you though, apparently.

In a given match, everyone has equal lag, but lag varies from match to match. Like, playing with a guy who has the same ISP in the same town as me is much more responsive than playing against someone living off in East Coastia.
