As long as I'm alive it'll be back up in five seconds.

What under fire? Sometimes I leave sentries miles into enemy territory. Sometimes I drop dispensers and teleporters I'm not using just so I know which direction my enemy is about to come from. What makes me a great engineer is that I recognize that I can rebuild. It's the same principle as DR Spy: you got me, so what? I'm not here to win an imaginary "Perfection" award for my stuff not being shot. I only briefly lament the loss of buildings being actively used. This is also why I can move as an Offensive Engineer so well. If I'm Defensive, I'm far more inclined to guard my stuff. If I'm Offensive, I put it up until by sheer dumb luck and shotgun buck it stays.

Remember that ideally, you want to kill 2 people for every death you experience or better. DR Use and most exploded Buildings don't count towards that death.

Set-up is pretty easy for me to do a 2-3 Sentry, 1 Dispenser and 1 Port Exit/Entrance. It's just a question of moving faster and muscle memorization, like Korean Starcraft.

Ohhhh, I see. You kill people before building, rather than finding and then building in a spot where some fucking Scout won't run up in the next four to eight seconds, beat your still-erecting sentry to death, and then one-shot you, which is what I do. It takes longer to do it that way.

I took Doom's post to be more that he throws shit up until it sticks. Meanwhile he's running around like a canny motherfucker and, since he's Doom, if someone actually tries to track and kill them, he can engage one-on-one after having led the fool on a merry chase.

Spy Engineer is best Engineer.

There's really no explanation beyond determination and dumb luck for getting a sentry up on Steel A that covers the defender's spawn.

Well, it helps to count to 4 after a respawn wave. It is difficult, but if you time building to be dead in between respawn waves and have a dispenser already set up on that little ramp, then you can sometimes pull it off. But yes, it's a lot of luck and hoping Red is completely oblivious.
