I was one save rioght before the final round of question in the 2nd Pheonix Wright gave. I saved, quit, went to let the dogs outside.

Turn the DS back on, and the save file had gotten currupted.

I loved that game but know way in HELL am I slogging through 96 percent of the text in a game I've already seen just for the ending.

*cough*

FF7 froze right after I beat Ruby Weapon.

I didn't have a lot of trouble killing Ruby.  I just set up all 3 of my dudes to be self-sufficient and then beat him with the one that stayed.  You can of course cheat and give all your best crap to one dude, then make sure he's the one that stays behind.

I had a lot more trouble killing Emerald, because of that attack that does damage proportional to the amount of materia you have equipped.  I didn't know that was how it worked, and I was fully decked out, so whenever Emerald used it, my entire party died.  So I used the CounterSummon-Phoenix route, and spammed KOTR.  Lame, I know.

Speaking of the SAHTON, said pearly white's lithium battery went nice and dead, murdering off about a dozen hearty saves. More of a blessing in disguise, honestly. Purchased an official ram cart, and gave the perfect excuse to fire up some dusty titles. Sometimes the perfect save can be the perfect hinderance.

You should get that checked out.

firefox crashes most of the time when there are flash videos playing (including advertisements or embedded youtube videos or whatever) which is pretty awesome!  I'm not sure why it does it, and reinstalling the browser and the flash plugin does nothing, so that's cool.

in terms of video games, my copy of brave fencer musashi got scratched and freezes when you enter the final dungeon, which is also pretty cool!

Mrots Materia? What the hell is that supposed to mean?

A friend of mine had a copy of Final Fantasy VII that was scratched like VGameT's Musashi disc. Instead of loading up the fight against One-Winged Angelroth, the game froze up.

Froze on the death animation of Lavos Spawn in Chrono Cross, after taking the time to actually do it propa.

I just assume everything ended happily ever after when you kill the giant merged Time Dragon.

That's how I did it.  Wasn't that hard by the time I got there, no, but really irritating that I had to do it again.

Right, Final/Phoenix was the way to go.  Spamming a shitload of maxed-out Counterattacks is good too, unless I'm misremembering and thinking of Ruby.

Hum.  I have that problem too; I assumed it was because I was running Linux (and 64-bit Linux at that), whose Flash support is not exactly stellar.  (Ever see a Mac Pro slow down to the point of uselessness just from browsing the fucking Web?  I have!)

Flashblock is a pretty decent solution; it doesn't load any Flash embeds until you tell it to.  It's really cut down on my crashes, though I DID get one lockup yesterday from a page that had multiple videos on it.  The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Video thread, IIRC.

iDeaS is still junkware in the playability realm. The sound emulation is the equivalent of jamming a ballpoint pen into your ear drum, and the frame rate is up there with sweeping broken glass shards off the floor with your pupils.

:goggles:

no$gba 2.6a (released last week), on the other hand, does a moderate job. The audio is still in the ear infection arena, but the frame rate is fine. No save state function or ability to view fullscreen with both screens; going into 640x480 resolution helps.

They're closing in, but the Lite is still the finest method, what with the full library compatibility, and the WiFi, and the microphone, and the horizontal & vertical switching, and the Pokeyman with the pokey and the man and the thing where the guy comes out of the thing, and he likes to fall out of that whrr ah ah ah!

Not quite a crash: I completed Kirby's Dreamland 2 quite thoroughly, but only got 98%. I have no idea what the other 2% is. This occurred after my sister had erased my 100% game.

You'll want version 2.6a, as it automatically loads the memory type (and is twice as fast at rendering 3D to boot).

If you have any further problems, check Options > Emulation Setup, ensure that Reset/Startup Entrypoint is set to 'Start Cartridge directly', and NDS-Cartridge Backup Media is set to 'Auto', or 'EEPROM 64KBytes'. These settings should even work on your 2.6 version for the majority of titles.

...Will any of these do Mario 64 DS with an actual analog stick as input?

If so, best argument for piracy I've ever heard.

Considering that it costs a nonzero amount of money, you probably won't like the idea of getting an R4.  It's all the piracy with none of the emulation issues.

I played through a perfect game (sans Excalibur II) of FF9 once, and then discovered Disc 4 had a scratch on it that made the game hang whenever Meteor was cast. Not that big a problem, except the third to last boss uses Meteor 100% of the time as an opening attack.
