After twenty years of tagging along and eating all the pies, Dogi is playable.

Unfortunately his attacks only work on walls.

Things that Ys Seven has:

-the best soundtrack since Ys 3
-a synthesis system kind of like FFXII's bazaar
-the hardest boss fights I've yet to see from this series (which may be damning with faint praise but hey)
-really fast pace
-special skills that emphasize use of space and range rather than straight increases in damage
-no option to speed up text >:(
-Secret of Mana-style party structure, with one-button swapping between controlled characters
-pretty huge dungeons.  I am not very far because of lack of time to play but the first few have been well over a half an hour each, even with how fast you run.

The choice of the PSP was unfortunate, but if you have one this game is a buy.

Tap the O button to make all the text in the current box appear, and hold the O button down for a bit to fast forward through cutscenes and dialogue.

Just to be sure, are we talking hard as in "challenging" here or hard as in "need to grind on enemies for half an hour to damage it, even after the strongest available enemies start only giving 1 XP"?

Run around attacking small hit boxes at inconvenient angles while dodging large AoE for a few minutes until you do enough damage to make the boss's actual life bar vulnerable for 15 seconds.

Attack and Defense don't seem to scale nearly as fast this time around, FWIW; the level cap is 99.
