It sure is convenient how every time you say something stupid and wrong it turns out you were actually being hip and ironic only nobody noticed.

(Actually in this case you were not saying anything stupid and wrong, you were just stupidly pointing it in the wrong direction.  So now you are pointing out that an observation you made that was actually intelligent was not intended to be taken seriously.  Or something.  I don't know, I think I'm gonna go play Mass Effect.)
I think people notice, i.e. the ones who don't jump down my throat?

Anyway now you know that I really am serious and mean what I say, I guess!

Here "jumping down my throat" means saying this:

The fact that you don't understand that falls under my previous comments about you not getting the joke, but that is neither here nor there.

...was looking for something else sarcastic to say, but just going to let that one stand on its own.

I never said it meant that, Thad. I meant more like the response I got from people when I was newer.

Can I just delete this thread? It is stupid. I am afraid deleting my post will just leave the thread sans context.

There's a "remove thread" link at the bottom left, right next to the "lock thread" button.

Yyler,

Don't delete threads.

Newbie,

Don't encourage people who aren't moderators to delete threads.

In fact, you probably shouldn't encourage people who ARE moderators to delete threads, either.

While I agree that deleting threads should generally be avoided, is there a reason why people shouldn't be able to delete short, drama-filled threads that they themselves start? Are you going to undelete my thread, too?

Because pretending it never happened isn't behavior worth promoting?  Because there's more to the thread than what the original poster posted, and other people might not like their posts being fucked with by someone other than a mod?

Do you understand how terrifying the words “vibrating strap on” are for an asexual? That’s like saying “the holocaust” to a Jew.

I pretty much don't think it's okay to delete other people's posts, except in extreme circumstances.

I never even delete my OWN posts, no matter how drunk I was and what a bad idea they were in hindsight!  :8D:
