Hey this damned thing has been out since June.  How come I haven't heard about it until now?

Probably because the license to play games is more expensive than Steam generally, and the technical broadband requirements to run the thing at a decent clip are so high that if you can afford that, you can probably afford to build a personal computer that will work a damned lot better.

Still the fact that it's not actually vaporware and that the business model has somehow failed to collapse within six months is pretty damned impressive.

I actually wouldn't be shocked if Valve invested in similar technology. It's a little half baked currently due our (relatively) shitty NA broadband networks, but the idea is pretty solid for some things. Obviously I shun the thought of adding frames of lag to a game, but a lot of people won't. Steam could make a really good jumping point, since so much is already established. How'd they monetize it? No clue, but clearly there are a lot of ways.

Also have you seen the size and price of the OnLive console? Again, no use for it, but I can't help but to find that a compelling concept.
