I don't know why they would build a talent like Weapons Master after six+ years of experience with the Weapons Master talents in WoW.

All it's going to do is limit what wepaons people can use, it's not going to encourage people to play to their preferred style. When you build a game around optimization, what do you expect people are going to do?

Eh, I don't mind having some differentiation between weapon types other than their relative numbers and the model attached to them.

Nerds are Nerds. They always bemoan what they think missing rather than be grateful for what they receive.

Blizzard introduces us to the Diablo 3 endgame.

 :cake:

The first dozen or so people to hit paragon 50+ are going to make a shitload of money off sheer volume of drops. That magic find boost is HUGE.

AA-style gains that make me feel as though 80% of my existing play time was even more of a total waste than it really was.

I'm not excited, but it might rope me in. I'm still leaning towards waiting for 1.1, so that I'm not burnt out by the time the game is polished enough to merit more of my time.

Also, the legendary adjustments are a stupid solution to bad weapons. We'll still see shit yellows, which are also aggravating. Having any kind of max level weapon drop without at least a guaranteed base damage affix combo of %damage and flat damage of some sort means we'll drown in totally unusable items regardless. That they only did this for uniquesLegendaries and not yellows irritates me.

Yellows are potential mats.  Dropping them is murder.

Yellows that DE into hooves instead of tears are trash¹, not mats. Here's hoping they put in a proper fucking filter so I don't have to waste the mental energy filtering through stuff of no interest to me.

What I think I'm getting at is that the way they determined weapon damage rolls, the system as a whole, was dumb. There will still be bad weapons and great weapons, but instead of the gap being between 200 and 1200, it'd be between 700 and 1200.

Considering the game has a real money auctionhouse, I wasn't expecting them to make every item good or even close to every item good. This is already going to inflate the in game economy terribly with the changes to magic find.

I don't enjoy auction fighter online. Feels like just playing the god damned game is asking too much.

Even if they bump the baseline, all they do is reduce variance a little. Items will still be priced by rarity, as evidenced by the massive gap between a 1k 1hander and a 1.05k one, or a 1.1k one, and so on. Damage aside, there's also the matter of whether they roll decent LoH, crit damage, prime stats, life steal (lolololol), or sockets.

Logged in for the first time in a white and I found a legendary in a couple of minutes. And despite all the revisions.. It's not really any better than a blue/yellow I could find. It was marginally better than what I was using, so I kept it.

Looks nice at least.

Weird. I thought monks were the martial fighters, but they let demon hunters use bow staves.

Interestingly, TF2 just banned idling by stopping the drop clock for players who do not hit the ok after receiving an item drop. I suppose you can add a script to do that, but that then falls under the list of bannable offenses/mods.
