Actually, I have crippling migraines every few years, which eventually resulted in getting a bunch of CAT scans and MRIs done. They revealed a whole extra network of veins in my left parietal lobe. Kind of awesome, actually. It looks like a tropical spider attacking that whole hemisphere. Against all odds, though, they're really well formed and show no sign of trouble. I was informed that something like that usually causes learning disabilities, which is very, very far from any problem I might actually have. I declined the offer to have the thing gamma-knifed out.

Not a brain problem, per se. More just a general brain what-the-fuckery.

I used to take Prozac and Effexor to help with my sleep disorder.

Used to. Not anymore. It didn't actually help, and frankly, I remember next to nothing about this period of my life other than it felt terrible to even exist. I'd rather sleep than try again. (That doesn't sound like much but let's just say sleeping is extremely low on the list of things that I want to do.)

Yeah. Less than it used to be, but I've still got the hypersomnia, which is both worse and not as bad, in different ways. I have a feeling it's a brain problem, but modern science can't tell.

New age healers, on the other hand, find that the root of my problem is that I'm surrounded in permanence by a variety of malevolent spirit beings. :hurr:

To hear that one guy talk about it, you'd think I'm basically Zappa from Guilty Gear, except that I sleep instead of kicking ass.

Zappa sort of blacks out every time he starts kicking ass.

Just saying.

The pharmaceutical industry irks the hell out of me these days. My little brother supposedly has ADHD, and has been on Ritalin for a while. It turns him into a total zombie. I could go on and on about the various ways this scares/infuriates me, but I won't because it's frustrating.

I've been diagnosed with like three things so far, with pills to match. I'm sure if I went in again, they'd find something else wrong with me, if only to throw a few more little capsules in my direction.
