Serious Sam 3's DRM
I love this. It reminds me of the DRM on earthbound.

I bet you could still beat the game with that thing chasing you if you were extremely careful. If you can provide proof that you did, they should give you a copy of the game.

Found out where to get SS1, and SS2 for $10 each. Which one should I start with?

Both of them, old and new versions, were $2.50 on a Steam sale recently.  Total.

Don't get punked.

So I got to the point in Serious Sam 3 where the game is just throwing a million Kleers at me along with shittons of the huge dudes that throw fireballs.

Whyyyyyyyy?

Pro-tip: The devastator will over-penetrate every target until it arms, killing them instantly in most cases, and then, of course, exploding with the force of a rocket at the end, doing more splash. It's great crowd control, and you don't have to waste cannon balls.

Also those dudes are called Khnums.

I remember that stage. It was tricky. Two cannonballs will usually take out a Khnum, and the Devastator is the most efficient anti-Kleer weapon.

Were you guys playing a different Serious Sam 3 where the devastator did more than just look cool and work like rocket launcher that shot near-hitscan rockets? It was nice for when I had to kill the mancubus looking things real fast, but it was lackluster against everything else I shot.

Oh and I swear to god that the splash damage is about 5 times larger than the rocket's, but only when it will hurt Sam.

Edit: Everything Bal said it does never happened for me. I even read that post before I went back to the level and beat the game, and all it ever did was blow up on the first kleer it hit.

Every time I equipped the Devastator it told me to right-click to zoom, and then I right-clicked, and it didn't zoom.

It doesn't detonate on targets at closer range, instead going through them. You could take several kleer in a row if you let 'em get close.

I got conditioned NOT to use the thing in close range because if I was anywhere near what I was shooting at I got blown up. It sounds like the thing is a little busted from what you said about the missing zoom function.

Not that it matters now, since all I am going to do from now on is play coop, where it doesn't matter what I use to shoot things with.

Well. It kind of does. Things will still be Serious, Sam.

Enemies scale in health based and number based on how many players there are (health more than number, obviously) to the point that normal enemies have boss health in 16 player games.

RE: Devastator, it should be used point blank. Like, when the Kleer is leaping into your face, but before it tears it off.

It detonates if it hits the ground near you, or any enemy with more health than the piercing rounds require, and a kleer does not.

It's also like a torpedo in that it arms after a certain flight time.
