So I just bought a PS3 because amazon has $50 off the 80gb model today and Valkyria Chronicles.  I had almost forgotten there were PS3 games I was actually interested in.

So the Chapter 7 desert battle was going okay.  Units were fucking up the bigass tank's radiators.

And then Selvaria showed up.

Suddenly, laser lance.

And for the first time in a long while, the tank was useful again. Cue like four or five guys cowering around the radiator.

Yeah, that's basically how that battle went for me. Squishies hide behind the tank, lancers stand in front of the radiator. Unless you already have
the second tank
, then that stage may have been my first implication of an impenetrable (get ready for that to be a pun) defense I call "Tank Scissoring".

It just struck me yesterday how strange of a tactical landscape this game has. It’s completely devoid of any anti-aircraft weaponry, yet there are some rather modern ones like main battle tanks and assault rifles
…and under-barrel flamethrowers!
Oh yeah, and I think the Liberation of Fouzen is gonna suck to a significant degree. I went pretty quickly from
“Pfff, that armored train couldn’t hit the broad side of a barn from inside the cow”
to
“HOLY SHIT, THE GATTLINGS JUST SAWED AIKA IN HALF!!”
grumble mumble...

PARK YOUR TANK WITH THE RADIATOR AGAINST A WALL
:advice:
GET SHOT FROM THE SIDE BY A SINGLE PLUCKY LANCER

I wonder if I'll get an upgrade option to mount the radiator on top of the thing...

...say, I don't have a PS3 but I do have a PSP.  Is Valkyria Chronicles 2 any good?

(I guess there's no way to play 3 in English, right?)
