Because my
total amount
of moneys
is $0.

There is no point in trying to socialize with people in an activity that can cost up to $10,000 (for a boat!) when I can socialize just as well in a simple activity that cost like $2 (for the bouncy ball).

I would love to go sailing, it's a blast, make no mistakes.  But it is expensive.  And I'm not going to put off hanging with radical dudes just because I can't go sailing.

I know how not having any free time can crush someone's spirits.

Basically, between 17 and 20 I spent my days that I worked exactly like this:

Shower, Go to work, come home, pick my mother up, take her to the doctor and sleep in the car while she was in dialysis or other appointments, take her home, shower, Go to work, come home, pick my mother up, take her to the doctor... and so on.

My brother dealt with my mother's near death surgeries and life threatening illness by working 365 days a year for the 2+ years that it was the worst. I honestly dealt with it by submerging myself, on my days off from work, in a rather unlikely place for support and help.... here. Or rather, Pyoko, at the time but, what I mean is you guys. (That is honestly why I care for most of you they way I do and spend money on you guys if I ever have something I can spend money on you guys for) I had to teach myself to socialize, and you guys did it for me. I can talk to anyone about anything now and I don't feel uncomfortable talking face to face with someone, or talking in front of hundreds of people, I attribute that to the social skills I learned her, and working in customer service for the last six years.

This isn't a post dedicated to telling you how to better yourself. I would never dream of thinking I know how you can do that. I just wanted to let you guys know it can be done and to say that I hope each and every one of you 'shut-ins' learn to be happy, or at least, deal with it.

I will note that I don't mean that comment to be addressing anything Brentai said. Sounds like he's fucked right now for work and debt and I hope he gets that worked out.

Good point.

Hiking doesn't cost anything though.  Well, except for water and trail mix.

Point being that meetup is a lot of fucking wankers.  Or more likely, Orange County is a lot of fucking wankers.  YMMV.

You know, Brent, if you automatically assume that somebody who wants to get together for an hour or two of kickball or learning Russian are wankers, maybe you're doing them a favor by not hanging with them?

So how would your posts change if we linked you to a sailing club that met in your city?

Just seems an odd point to sit on. Kick Ball and Ghost Chasing and all.

OH WAIT HAHAHAHAH THAT MEANS I'M A NARCISSISST! THE ONLY REASON ANYBODY INVITES GUESTS TO THEIR HOUSE IS BECAUSE THEY WANT THE GUESTS TO TELL THEM JUST HOW AWESOME THEY ARE.

No, a narcissist invites people to their house because they want to tell themselves how awesome they are.

If you did it NOW?  I'd tell you that I fucking told you why I can't go anywhere right now.

If it had been anywhere on meetup I would have mumbled "Hey, that's neat" and maybe remembered it for later.  We probably wouldn't be having this discussion, because nobody would be telling me to go waste my time with something dull to find other dull people.

I certainly hope nobody in here is a real hardcore kickball fan, because I've probably inadvertantly made them cry by now.  Sorry!  I have no real strong feelings about kickball!

(Other than no human being should be caught playing it after elementary school.)

One big thing is to not feel that after a certain period of time, that person is gone to you forever. Approach an old friend in earnest, maybe apologize if you dropped the ball on your end and make an honest commitment to hang out or see a movie or Smash a Bro.

I would like to throw in here that recently I decided to get back in touch with a group of people I knew when I was 15, in the town in which I grew up.  There was no reason for me to do this, but they were overjoyed.  One girl asked me to visit on a date not two weeks after getting back in touch, simply because she was going to be in town for her 10-year reunion and wanted to hang out.

These are people with whom I played Dungeons and Dragons.  Most of them play WoW and TF2.  The only terrifying thing about getting back in touch with people is the realization of how easy it is, and subsequently how much time you've lost.

PS T Brent in fairness, the only social kickball league I've ever taken part in usually involved called games because half of each team didn't show up.  Nobody was particularly bothered by this because we knew they'd all be at the bar with us later on anyway.

Dear Pacobird,

We accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Wednesday in the forums for whatever it was we we were talking about. But we think you're crazy to post a message telling you who we are and why we don't want to play kickball. You see us as you want to see us: in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions.

But what we found out is that each one of us is a tranny...

Quote from: Constantine
and a photographer...

Quote from: Doom
and a moderator...

Quote from: Brentai
a programmer...

Quote from: Mongrel
and a troll.

Does that answer your question?

Sincerely yours,

the Worst Forums Ever.

I am in fact a photographer-moderator-programmer-troll.

...not a tranny though.

...too much hair.
