So last night I tried to Demoman a little bit. My total time in Demoman nearly doubled - it's almost an hour and a half now. I started to get the beginning of an inkling of the hang of it, and it was so satisfying being on the opposite end of stickies for a change.

I_M: Do you know what DPS means?  It doesn't just mean "attack speed."

Bongo: I hate Demoman a lot.  If anybody gets a killcam shot of me as a Demoman, you should know that Professor Oak would go apeshit for it.

Damage Per Second was the meaning I was using.

Which is the acronym, but your post just doesn't make sense.  The lazy-TF2 balance you're referring to has everyone doing the same DPS, just with different weapon speeds.

1 damage per shot every second is the same DPS as 3 damage every three seconds.

Additionally, tons of people use the FAN. It allows for much more damage in a hit and run, and to either just knock people around, or at least interfere with their movement. It might not be as overall useful as the scattergun, but that's true of all the primary replacements (I consider the medigun the medic primary).

Well, granted it's anecdotal, but I have not seen a single other player playing scout using the FAN in the past three weeks.

I'm guessing it's just a playstyle thing.  Hit-and-run Scouts use FAN; hunt-and-destroy Scouts use Scatter.  Honestly it seems like FAN is a RED weapon and Scattergun is a BLU one*, but I find switching too damn cumbersome so I just stick to FAN because I don't like sticking around for firefights as a squishy Scout.

One thing we haven't speculated on at all is the "new content for all classes". Normally, I would take this to mean maps, but given that they specifically mentioned that there would be new maps as well, we can assume that this refers to something else.

Guesses? Personally, I have no clue.

Female character models.

Related change, third person camera.

While I know Bal only said this for a joke and it was funny and well timed, this would be awesome and hopely if ever done, would be done properly so that the female models weren't all sex-pots but were instead charmingly humourous charactatures just like their male counter-parts.

This girl on deviant art actually has some really good examples of how it could be done right though I'm not a big fan of her spy who I think should look more like a less sexed up Molotov Coqtiz from Venture Brothers with one of those big long filters on her cigarettes. But if you'll notice, she even does a good job of maintaining the overall silhouette of each class.

But, I highly doubt this is what the extra content will entail. I'm pretty sure all it will be is extra sound clips for all the classes since the Scout got a ton of extra ones that he now says when he gets dominations on particular classes. I'm thinking they are just gonna add these for the rest of the team... *cough* fortress.

Several classes have got some new voice clips already. At least I think so.

Also, I liked the idea in some 3d forum to make Demogirl a french revolutionaire, Sniper a redneck and Heavy Weapon Girl Mo'Nique.

New sound clips sound most likely to me, but it might also be subtle tweaks like the Engineer mini-updated that added upgradeability to all buildings.

Sound clips don't really change anything.

Valve once said that female character models are unlikely. They considered it in development, but it would require the game to load twice as many of those high-spec character models, without much benefit. I imagine it would also double the voice acting cost.

That's not every class.

I'm aware of their feeling on females characters, and don't honestly think they'll ever do it, or if they do you will only get to choose one set of models, or one model for each class.

I suspect there will be a large re-balancing pass that will effect all classes.
