Yeah, that thought actually did cross my mind in making the decision.

Afterburn is now basically... irrelevant. I mean, do we have an exact calculation on what un-extinguished afterburn does in terms of damage as compared to what it did before? I think it was roughly 50 before? and now... like 35?

Do we have proof that the Backburner got buffed?  Also, is it a 20% increase from pre-patch, or is a minus 20% to all the Pyro's primaries, and then a 20% increase on top to bring it to it's pre patch regular damage?

80% + 20% is 96%. That is what they did. (perhaps incorrectly)  :whoops:

I just realized that the Lamethrower now does less damage than the SMG, Pistol(s), Revolver, Shotgun(s), and needle-gun.

That's right, this is more damaging than Airman.

Excuse me, I'm going to go sulk and mourn the death of my once favorite class.

Worse than the SMG?

... wow.

I did not in fact realize it was THAT BAD.

In practice it probably isn't weaker at all.  But that isn't saying much?

Yeah, saturn's argument that you'd have to hit with all the fire to make it as strong as its dps output says it is (about the flame thrower) kind of holds for the SMG also, because the SMG is like the least accurate piece of shit in the game.

Assuming of course 100% accuracy with all of those guns and all of their bullets.

Hurrr hurrr hurrr.

Sounds like Lyrai and Joxam have some serious PEBKAC issues.

I kinda agree with Geo on that one. I saw them and thought "Oh good, I don't care about these at all because they look like something that came out of a one-dollar cereal box."

That kind of describes most of the style of TF2, though, doesn't it?

I'm with Lypoie on this one. They fit the theme of TF2, even if that means they don't look like total badassery.

the thing is, that the flamethrower is SO FUCKING WEIRD when it comes to hit detection, that you can have the nozzle rammed directly into your target, both be standing dead still and some of the the damaging particles will STILL MISS.

if you ram the other weapons into someone's face, every bullet should still connect

Yes, the Flamethrower defiantly has wonky hit detection.  I've always been saying that.  But no matter how bad it is it is not as bad as the SMG in a straight up fight.  Saying otherwise is being disingenuous.

Miniature lead hats!

Are the aforementioned lead hats and this other secret update related to this Mighty Godking post?

The level of polish doesn't seem consistent, but I want new TF2 content to keep my mind off of pyros and how Steam keeps crashing.

I am September 18th, 2007. WHAT DOES THIS MEAN VALVE?
