Somebody tell me when they fix the Spy's Invisibility Not Working so I can bother to work up the give-a-shit to play again.

Scene; one jarate'd, woefully unaware Heavy.  A Pyro in perfect position to captalize on said Heavy.  ~3 full seconds of point blank, flame-throwery action!

Pryo dies, with more than enough time for Heavy to sandvich away all the damage!

 ::(:

I've never ever rage quit before, but today I just had to.  That was just fucking BALLS.

Maybe if they just fixed the wonky fire hitbox...

I'm glad the Steel Penis penetrated your urethra and shot its railgun inside of you.

Meh, it's the variety and class dynamics that interest me.  If the game is just Fast Hit Scan Class Vs. Leading Explosions Class With Occasional Invulnerability The FPS, I probably wouldn't play it.  So, wanting them to make the game WORSE doesn't seem like a particularly strange desire.

Also, Homewreckers get rid of Sappers now, apparently.  Neat!  Supposedly they fixed the Spy's bug, too.

Hooray! Now the pyro still has no reason to use the homewrecker! Especially now that axtuingisher is even more vital.

Hey, that is kinda cool. :wat:

BUT... pretty much what Cow said.  ::(:

EDIT: Also it's worse, in that it further railroads the pyro into being nothing more than a spy-counter, and more specifically an engie babysitter. It's like they're trying to turn an entire class into the Razorback.

engie babysitter

This is setting conspiracy theory gears running in my head. What if the nerf is temporary? What if they're just trying to alter the dynamic for the Engineer update, so that there's more Spies around, but the few Pyros that remain are super helpful?

Right after they made Soldier the best and Demo/Soldier super popular. Brilliant.

Soldier and Demo have always been and likely always will be the no-skill-required, crazy damage output, noob-friendly classes.

The Spy, Medic, Engie, Scout, and Pyro used to be the skill classes, with Sniper and Heavy as more noobish, but possibly skillful classes.

But no, W+M1 required no skill and worked as an effective strategy for any other class of moderate skill.  ::(:

Tell me when relentless spamming of rockets, potatoes and winbombs are nerfed.  And then I'll believe Valve about trying to make the game more skill based.

Well, that's closer, but I assure you that I have only W+M1'd--Ran straight towards someone facing me out in the open while holding down the fire button--when I knew I was going to die and just wanted to be stupid.

This has happended at most 30 times over all my playtime as Pyro.  Strangely enough, it worked and I survived 5 of those times.

I am having more fun as pyro now than I was before. Poofing rockets at people is great when it is easy and useful. I also got MVP once or twice tonight as pyro.

Also your post didn't make any damned sense to the point where it was talking about an entirely different game.

Catloaf, you're pretty wrong.  I will tell you why.

I'll admit, Soldier and Demo are easy to pick up and learn the basics of... but so are most the classes.  Soldier and Demo have very high skill ceilings, despite being 'simple' classes.  Easy to learn, hard to master.

The issue with a lot of the classes in the game is that they DON'T have a skill ceiling.  What you can learn in a few minutes is pretty much all there is to the class, with only a little room for improvement.  This includes the Pryo.

Pointedly, I definitely disagree on the Sniper comment.  If anything, I would say that Sniper is the hardest classes to carry your weight with, followed closely by the Spy.  The Sniper has really only has one skill, true, but it is a skill with a LOT of room for one to improve in.  Theoretically, a Sniper with perfect accuracy would be the best class, no argument.  The fact that we don't see perfect Snipers is a testament to the challenge of mastering the class.

Though I guess I can empathize.  Sometimes if the server has a ton of soldiers/demos and the map is KOTH, the point can get really spammed to hell.
