I defy anyone who tries to tell me that Scout can't go toe to toe with just about any other class.

While Medic has always been my "default" class, I feel like I'm starting to come into my own with it.  I've been practicing more with the Blutsauger and Ubersaw, and have been, honestly, very shocked at how much damage the Medic can do on his own.  While it's not necessarily the proper way to play the class, I'm a lot more comfortable striking out on my own if there's no one to attach to.  Alternatively, I'm a bit more willing to stand ground if I find myself isolated from my teammates.  Healing will always come first, but man, combat Medic is fun.  It also makes the class way less of a drag to play.

Two tidbits from the Steam forums this morning.

Not sure who's aware of this, but there's a neat trick with the Buff Banner.

Quote
Did you know if you hold down the mouse 1 button after you active you blow your bugle, you can actually hold of the Buff. Meaning that if you activate your Buff and the enemy starts to retreat, you can hold on to it activating a little longer so you can get into range. BUT you can't actually change weapons.

Thought it was worth mentioning.

Also, apparently the lack of overheal on the Dalokohs Bar is intentional.

I wish I had the infinite levels of patience Robin Walker seems to have.

I think it's easier to be patient with that stuff when you see them working on it everyday.

It's pretty obvious that it is intentional.

First hints at Engie Update!!!

Confirmed:
Alternate Sentry (1/3??!):  "No turn"--No rockets, multiple targets, needs constant resupply, medium health.

Alternate Dispenser (1/2):"Amplifier"--Generates health, medium health, ups crit rate.

Alternate Teleporter (1/3):"Flying Turret"--Multi-mode moble(?)
(2/3):"Doom's Day device"--Single charge, single use, slow activation, medium-high damage

Objects of note:  MANN Co. Live animal crate.

Hot damn! The item on the blueprints to the lower right is the dog harness w/missile packs from that excellent joke dog update someone put together.

Maybe it's just a red herring/April Fool's joke*, but that's certainly intriguing.

*Of course, we all remember how the LAST April Fool's joke turned out. Then again maybe they're counting on that? ARGRH!

Also: http://www.manno.com.br/ WTF.

EDIT: Hold on, maybe this is just a horrible third-party joke?

See my edit.

This is incredibly depressing, given that the real engie update will almost certainly be far more boring than this.

I'm dead fucking sure the dogs and dog-hats have to be an April Fools joke.

EDIT:  Also, can't they be sued if this is done by a third-party?  I mean, they're portraying themselves as valve, and even putting up the legal crap at the bottom reminding everyone how they shouldn't be doing that if they are.

I'm pretty sure that Valve has shown good humour in the past regarding joke updates, even going so far as to link to them on the front page of the TF2 blog.

Of course, that's no guarantee, but being in Brazil probably helps to mitigate any worries about a cease-and-desist anyway.

Man, the item icons and terrible ideas were also a give away.

Though seriously I wouldn't be surprised if some robot dog became an anti spy item.

While there is a lot of clear giveaways, I'm like, shocked at the amount of work they put into this.

Joke answer: More work than Valve'll put into the Engie update.  ::(:
