My strategy is to wait until the sentry upgrades, then run in and Homewrecker it. This has only actually worked once.

Sentries that are building up take more damage from all sources, that's probably where bongo got the idea.

Also, Mongrel, I still don't see how the new minigun rewards dumb play. If you're complaining about heavy-medics being too good against pubbies then they're just as good with any minigun, A spy can still stab a heavy even if he's on fire you know.

You know how rubbish Pyros will start to roast a heavy, but then poof him away out of his own flamethrower range?

The flames basically encourage this kind of idiocy from everyone now.

Okay sure, in the magical happyland where every player is competent the new gun is mostly a non-issue (though I still think it's problematic that it has no downside when the Heavy pushing a cart). But I play on a server that has a pretty damn high proportion of good players and even then more often than not you run into situations where you have seven good players and three FTP-pubbies on one team and three good players and seven FTP-pubbies on the other. The only way to avoid that is to play on private servers that only allow ranked players or whatever.

I'm not saying dumb the game down to favour retards, but maybe this one gun is a bit much. This is not a weapon that rewards a player for being skilled or being a good team member, it's just on all the time. I honestly don't see any loss to the overall gameplay if it's nerfed. The ammo consumption is simply not a drawback to an even halfway competent Heavy.

My favorite trick for pubstar Heavy+Medic combos is to rocket jump over both of them and rain death down on the medic. The heavy always seems to be able to counter their target going in any direction but -up-

There's a reason that I still use the Gunboats. Death From Above Soldier is best Soldier.

I'm currently trying to work on a variant of Death From Above soldier:

Rocket Jumper/Mantreads/Market Gardner

It doesn't work anymore, but man was Safety Launcher + Ullapool fun.

(Well, okay it still works, you just die in the process most of the time)

I still use it... but then I also still play 2fort.

A spy can still stab a heavy even if he's on fire you know.

Why must you tell all my secrets?

Hey sup Crouton.

Granted I haven't tried the new minigun so I don't know how much better it is overall, but it does sound like the go to gun for cart pushing

You know how rubbish Pyros will start to roast a heavy, but then poof him away out of his own flamethrower range?

I take personal offense to this though, since that's a valid tactic especially if you're burning a heavy-medic since you're not gonna kill the heavy even with the axetinguisher in that situation. Poofing a heavy away so you can make an escape and flare him is a perfectly good strategy.

Also, you should try gunboats with a quickfix medic on your ass, it is super good.

If you're burning a heavy-medic you should very much aim to Sting the medic.

Even if the heavy turns you into minestrone after doing so, taking out the other team's medic hurts them a lot more than them taking out a pyro

For what it's worth, I straight-up love it when, as Heavy, a pyro starts to burn me but then poofs me back, leaving himself dead in my sights.

Also, you should try gunboats with a quickfix medic on your ass, it is super good.

Most nights I just wish I could get a medic, period. ;____;

I'm so used to doing without one that on those rare occasions I DO find one stapled to my ass I'm like an unstoppable god. An OLD God, one of the ANGRY ONES.

Oh keen the update's out already! I just read the first comic this afternoon.

Also, the film of them walking out needs the Terminator theme overlaid.

I think that if they decided to unify the universes, then at that point Valve would essentially just be having a giant prank at our collective expense.

I don't think they're going for that, he's just a reference to the HL G-man, and that's really all there is to it. Actually explaining the g-man is pretty much missing the point. May I remind you that trying to cobble together all of your properties is one of the reasons that comic books kind of suck.

I'm pretty that "A giant prank" does not describe a serious attempt to reconcile various fictional video game universes.

I think Valve just like to fuck with their customers (especially ones who take them too seriously) in hilarious ways for their (and our) amusement.

After a year of reddit, the only thing that would actually convince me something is a Half-Life 3 clue would be a doubly notarized banner in 72-point Impact reading YES WE ARE MAKING IS A HALF-LIFE 3 REFERENCE LOVE VALVE.
