1. Do not use Java. It has really shitty sound libraries.
2. Have more than one level in the game.
3. For the love of god learn to draw or find someone to make better art because Adventures Of Ship Made In Paint Versus The Technicolor Meatballs don't cut it.
4. The large ship shape and colors distracts a lot from the actual hitbox.
5. Add bullet patterns that aren't circular or spiral.
6. Make the player's shots faster than the actual player. at least by 100% or 200%.

Suggestions:
  • Include basic instructions
  • Interface needs to respond to basic things like Enter for selecting, not the shoot button
  • Color scheme needs toning down
  • Invest in BulletML library for more interesting patterns
  • Use parallax effect for simple illusion of background depth

Now only macs have to do it the hard way!  ::D:

Shut the fuck up.  This board is not for insults, okay?  Sora made a game and posted it here: exactly the point of this forum.  To mock him just because you don't like him or his game is putting yourself well below his level.  Personally, I did not care if Sora was banned permanently, but that doesn't excuse you lot from being cocks in his legitimate thread.

If he does something stupid, then by all means, mock him and ban him.  But this is him trying his best, and if you don't like his game, offer some criticism or shut the fuck up.

Something that may be of interest to you: spaceships! sprites!

Ship size relative to bullet size need to be much smaller.  Collision detection ought to be more intuitive in that if a bullet is actually intersecting with ship graphic, then you should be damaged.  Also, game starts up slow.  Like, I can make a sandwich from when I double click to when the window actually shows content.

Or not. There are plenty of counterexamples.

Though it bears mentioning that after touhou 6 there is always a way to specifically see where your hitbox actually is, which is a good idea.
