I enjoyed 3.33, though it is clearly preamble for Rebuild: Final. The band is back together, and being Shinji is suffering. We're completely off the reservation RE: The original series from word go in this one, and Final has been pitched as an entirely new conclusion since the start, so I'm still excited.

Attack on Titan really knows how to twist the knife.

Redline is really good, in a wonderfully anime way.

Yeah, you get pretty much exactly what you expect from it. Gorgeously animated racing action, the good kind of cheese in all the lines and delivery, and characters that it's impossible to care about except as archetypes.

Schpoilers for Attack on Titan up to Episode 20
* Oh wow are they really gonna kill the protagonist? That's ballsy
* Ah nope oh well
* YES YOU ARE ALL BEING SENT OFF TO DIE I GET IT. I CAN UNDERSTAND HOW THIS WOULD BE DEEPLY CONCERNING CAN WE PLEASE GO ON.
* EREN CAN'T BE TRUSTED. EREN CAN'T BE TRUSTED. EREN CAN'T BE TRUSTED. WHO CAN'T BE TRUSTED? EREN.
* I think I kind of liked the Titans better as a random retarded manifestation of nature than as SECRET HUMANS.
Watching Attack on Titan is like watching Grave of the Fireflies but some asshole taped over the second half with Evangelion.

But you have to admit that both halves are pretty tragic.

The Dangan Ronpa anime is all finished now.  It suffers a lot from only being 13 episodes since the mysteries themselves are hyper-condensed, giving you all of the clues that are used to figure out the case in rapid two minute chunks right before the trials without any of the connective tissue or time to help figure things out.  The runtime also means that basically all of the "free time events" where characters actually get more development are gone.  That said, Dangan Ronpa's still a pretty fun lark, and if you don't feel like reading the Let's Play the anime's an alright way to get into it.  If nothing else, it puts the voice cast to good use and makes a few characters more amusing than they were before.

I actually started laughing when one of the clues for the case was "The Fat Guy's Glasses" and nobody had said anything about them up until that point.

But yeah, Danganronpa owns and I'm probably lucky for having started with the anime.

This review actually sounds pretty cool: http://tggp.tumblr.com/post/67016624482/ive-got-a-bit-of-writers-block-right-now-so-i

Can anyone corroborate, or is this guy just inflating/gushing over a boring stock anime with marginal differences from the usual drek?

I watched 2 episodes of it, because I was in love with the premise, but the actual execution of the show comes across as mindless, fanservicey drek.
