Wasn't it like 3 fansub groups partnering up to do it?

Yeah. Anime-Fansubs, NewLifeAnime, and Ishin-Digital. The group tag [NLA & A-F & Ishin] was a little unwieldy, so after Azumanga Daioh they changed their name to Triad. They're still active.

You do occasionally see joint projects, but it's rare to see a triple-joint that stays together afterward. I think some of these guys have been fansubbing since it was done with Scala and VHS.

I've never seen this nor do I know anything about it, but I enjoy this opening quite a bit.

If sucking dicks is wrong, I don't wanna be right.

Also, for good measure, a Phoenix Wright-ified version of the same opening.

As a rule I don't watch any show I can't pronounce.  It's worked pretty well!

As a rule, I refrain from watching any show Lyrai recommends to me.  It's worked pretty well so far.

Gurren Lagann, Haruhi and Azumanga are none of those things!  ::(:

As soon as they do another season of Black Lagoon, however, I'm all over it.  ::D:

I actually more associate Lyrai with Cromartie and Princess Tutu. Arguably more difficult to enjoy shows.

Black Lagoon,

So what's this one about, exactly? I was reading a Black Lagoon doujin and it had some tsundere scarred chick who was pretty hot I guess. They were talking about the soviet union or something, but I wasn't really paying attention with all the bondage going on.

Pretty much the exact opposite for me, thus far. Closest thing to a miss she's forced me to watch was Haruhi, and it was still pretty okay.

In a nutshell, it's about a small group of mercenaries that usually smuggle goods around Southeast Asia, usually for the Russian cartel in their little helicopter destroying PT boat.  It's pretty quality stuff.  I liked the subs enough to buy the dubs.
