Stick with it at least until the Scanty and Kneesocks episode.

Unrelated: Princess Tutu is gold.

I can't decide if that's high praise or not. Mostly in that I still don't know how I feel about utena.

If you watch one anime this year, make it Wolverine. I'm enjoying every last bit of this even if it's just Wolverine kills shit in japan and is out to save the girl.

The thing about watching Princess Tutu subbed is that every time somebody yells Fakir's name it sounds like they're shouting "FUCK YEAH".

I'm watching Star Driver right now. It's like Utena Lite, with giant robots. Enokido could be challenging a few more anime conventions, but he still has a sharp eye for the fabulous.

Puella Magi or Mahou Shoujo Madoka Magica or whatever is great. Watch it right now, at least the three first episodes, before anyone spoils anything to you.

I am enjoying Soul Eater, even though I'm into the gecko ending and there are still some pretty massive plot holes.

The big plot holes I mentioned are actually unrelated to that. More specifically, the conundrum of "why does nobody fucking know each other?"

There are two specific instances:

1) Black Star's backstory establishes that he grew up at the DWMA. That implies that he would have probably really gotten to know the staff there, including Lord Death himself. So why doesn't he recognize Death The Kid? You'd think they would have at least met before this. Kid seems to know his dad pretty well, and he literally never leaves the academy. And Kid's not the only one he doesn't know...

2) Nobody recognizes Stein.
Imagine if, when you were a kid, you wanted nothing more than to be a musician. Your mother and father were musicians. They studied at a prestigious school of music; the same one you attend full-time, with all of your friends who also want to be musicians.
Now imagine that neither you nor any of your friends know who Beethoven is.
And that Beethoven went to your school.
And also that your dad was close colleagues with Beethoven for seven years.

Considering that Stein is apparently this world-famous genius meister, it's just plain odd that none of the kids have any idea who he is when they first meet him.

Super Moe Lesbian Schoolgirls fighting Art's and Craft's projects seems pretty all right so far.

When you put it that way, it really sounds like Hidamari Sketch.

Seconding Madoka Magica. Even if the story and writing were absolute tripe, it'd be worth watching just because it has such excellent art direction. And the story and writing are, in fact, terrifically interesting!
