Nichijou - Principal vs Deer

This series needs a lot less Nano/Professor scenes. Some of the early ones were good, but past ep11 or so, they're just boring moe bullshit.

The latest Hellsing OVA is out and subbed, though in pretty low quality so far. It's panel perfect with the manga, so if you just like violence and crazy persons, highly recommend.

Since you seem familiar with the source material, this OVA (VIII) features the papal invasion by Maxwell, Restriction Art Zero release, and the first half of the last Alucard vs Anderson fight.

Anderson is one of the reasons I got into Hellsing. Bad ass priest always stand out.

Well, the episode is about 50% Anderson, so you won't be disappointed

God Anderson is the shiiiiiiiiiiiiiii

He and Alucard's pure, unfettered love of fighting each other IS the reason I got into Hellsing.

So Usagi Drop is pretty good so far. Probably as close as we are ever going to get to a Yotsuba anime.

Also:

Helvetica Slamdard - Quad City DJs vs Sasaki Sayaka

Edit: I also finished watching Madoka yesterday. Mostly because of the space jam mashup I posted earlier in the thread. It has the best youtube comments. "Mami Heat has no fans."

Smiler I want you to promise me you're going to just stop watching the series when it jumps ahead in time, and swear to god in heaven you will never watch the last episode.

Live in blissful ignorance forever my friend

I've heard horrible things about the ending and I am afraid to learn what could possibly happen. I stopped reading right where the manga does the time skip because it was back when that was all that was translated.

Just imagine the worst conceivable thing they could make these characters do and understand that this is what Yumi Unita decided would be a pretty good direction to go with the series.

It is incredibly telling that Unita apparently never expected the manga to go beyond the first volume.

Like if history's greatest monster wanted to destroy Yotsuba, this is what would be done.

While this is definitely spot-on, that's kind of the appeal, isn't it?

...as an unintentional tragedy?

In the end the thing that stuck with me the most was how genuinely appalled a manga had left me. I'd thought I could no longer be offended in such a way after the vast array of exotic lows the medium had pioneered. Turns out I was wrong!
That Daikichi saw nothing wrong with the prospect of seriously dating the little six-year-old girl he'd raised for ten years, that the series ends with him, at 40, getting a grand payoff of a high school girlfriend for his efforts is just the ultimate shitheel thing to... fucking.... imagine. Put to paper. It makes the series into this wish fulfillment fantasy for men craving an infinitely loyal, everlastingly subservient sixteen-year-old girl. What kind of a stellar fuck do you need to be to imagine the concept of raising your own girlfriend? Daikichi is her entire world. She's young and she hasn't even begun to realize who she could be. Yet just because she's physically old enough for him to stop seeing as a little girl, he decides to stop being her father because he's attracted to her. He decides to essentially quit being her father and allow her to give into her youth and impulse because it suits him and he feels he deserves it.
Really would never have imagined something called Bunny Drop would leave me so utterly horrified.

Huh, I remember reading about another anime with that same plot not too long ago.  IIRC it basically ends with life being disgusting and horrible for everybody involved.

Koi Kaze maybe? Prettymuch the same plot except
the girl is the MC's sister, and I mean his ACTUAL sister. Not a step sibling, not adopted, REAL SISTER, and he feels guilty and miserable about crushing on her the whole time. It's played straight and lacks any fanservice, which makes it a bit creepier, I think.
