I'd be surprised too if I had upside-down tits.

That's just gravity working its magic. Afterall, he's just become aware that there's nothing below his waist. Like all proper 2D constructs that reach the knowledge of their lacking of proper grounding, a comical fall has resulted.

Unfortunately, this particular fall has no end. This portrait offers a foreboding warning that skimping out on background artists could lead to a limitless descent. Madness cannot come swiftly enough for our well-endowed hapless hero.

Jil is the rare anime hero who manages to be a total wiener and have it actually be endearing, rather than just infuriatingly annoying.

Also stuffed in Ghost In The Shell 2: Innocence.  Movie spends a lot of time firing off philosophical quotes and showing you just how fucking pretty the scenery is without moving the plot.  Also the english subtitles are subtitles for the deaf/hard of hearing.  I DO NOT NEED EVERY SOUND EFFECT DESCRIBED, THANKS.

Overall, I actually did enjoy it.

Just watched episodes 275-278 of One Piece. Holy shit.
Nico Robin just went from my least favorite character in OP to my favorite sharacter in anything ever. I mean, the fact that every member of the crew has some super sad childhood is getting a bit played out, but when she was calling after her mother like that I just about lost it. 28 years of being alone, mocked and betrayed? SO SAD!
This stupid show really gets to me sometimes. In a good way.

I promised myself I'd only watch one episode a day of this and not go marathon-crazy like I do with every other anime.

...

Fuck it.  *goes marathon-crazy*

It really is.  I'm tired of having to pick up the flow again.

I now realize that all anime was meant to be watched in large chunks like this, which is why the pacing seems so shitty when it's in daily half-hour segments.  Of course that brings up the question of how the hell they can stand to watch it that way in Japan.

Just watched episodes 275-278 of One Piece.

Yeah, get ready for some of the worst padding you can possibly imagine. Enies Lobby is completely great, but I'd say there gets to be maybe 10-12 minutes of genuine substance for more than a few 24-minute episodes.
Nico Robin just went from my least favorite character in OP to my favorite sharacter in anything ever. I mean, the fact that every member of the crew has some super sad childhood is getting a bit played out,
I'd say that the only
strawhats with really traumatic childhoods are Nami are Robin (and maybe Chopper). Everybody else was pretty well off with only a few hiccups here and there.

but when she was calling after her mother like that I just about lost it. 28 years of being alone, mocked and betrayed? SO SAD!
This stupid show really gets to me sometimes. In a good way.
Kid Robin tearfully laughing "Derashishishi" got me teary. Also, later, in Chopper's fight? Got teary again.
Agree totally. Oh man.

I just skipped about 6 episodes. Hoooooooooooooly filler. At one episode a week, the entirety of Japan must have been crying when this arc was airing.

Regarding One Piece

They intentionally pad out the episodes, not to mention the filler arcs that are pretty hit and miss, though the filler arc following Enes Lobby has a pretty decent fight against a
Heat Heat Man.

One of the best/worst examples is Chopper vs Kumadori. In the manga, it's like two pages long. In the anime, Kumadori spends 5 fruitless minutes attempting to damage Monster Chopper. But you don't get to hear THAT ROAR in the manga...

And what about Franky?! That made me shed a manly tear.
You know what I love about Tower of Druaga?
How they spent the first episode mercilessly mocking the tendency of characters to say things that mark them for death before doing something fatally stupid, and then in the last episode pulled the exact same thing without the slightest hint of irony.  It's as if that first ep was just there to say, "We apologize in advance for the high-quality but painfully generic fantasy anime you are about to see."
Well, a several week long anime marathon is over, and I'm now caught up on One Piece anime up to the latest episode in Japantown. I think maybe I'll read some of the manga from this point on, then binge on the anime again another 2-3 years from now. Goooooood stuff.
