Funimation announces same-day-as-Nipon streaming of One Piece with english subs.

There are no words to describe me glee!

EDIT: From the site, emphasis mine:

Quote
Starting Saturday, May 30th at 9:00 p.m. CDT, just one hour after airing in Japan, FUNimation and the consortium will stream the first, free, professionally-produced, accurately English-subtitled "One Piece" series episode beginning with episode 403 via the official One Piece website http://www.onepieceofficial.com followed soon thereafter by FUNimation partner sites.

Each new episode of the current season will be rolled out weekly as "One Piece" continues its Japanese television run.

In addition, beginning Thursday, May 14th FUNimation will stream episodes from the Sabaody Archipelago Saga story arc starting with episode 391. FUNimation will also offer both its produced uncut, English-tracked and English-subtitled adaptations of the hugely successful series beginning with the first episode.

Foolishly straying from the division of teachings you were studying under.  I looked it up.

This week's Bleach actually had several consecutive moments of actual fighting and not just standing face to face throwing Deus Ex Machinas at each other.  I was impressed.

I thought they did the thing where they all merged together into the perfect girl and everyone won at the same time

or was that Bottle Fairies

christ should I see a doctor about this

That was Bottle Fairies yes.

There's also this site that says that the entire series was the girl at the end having psychotic hallucinations so don't ever read it because it makes you sad.

That actually sounds kind of awesome, honestly. The Bottle Fairies' main fella was just trying his best to entertain a sister's incurable psychosis the whole show - he so explicitly shielded her from reality until it done "got fixed" so she wouldn't have to ever know how much of an insane wrong-headed cat-lady she had always been.

Kind of touching, actually  :sadpanda:

The fucked-up chronology of the first series was a really, really brilliant piece of storytelling.

I hope they maintain it.  And I hope whatever DVD release ends up here is fucking correct; why would anyone put the series out in chronological order.  it's fucking maddening.

Blame the japanese.

No, seriously. The Japanese DVD release was in chronological order. Fear of reverse-importing (Japanese otakus taking our DVDs, which, by the way, is INCREDIBLY cheaper, even factoring in the cost of a R1 DVD player and shipping) caused the japanese license-holder to demand that the DVD release be the same. The concession we got was that Broadcast Order DVDs would be part of the special edition.

Fear of reverse-importing is the root cause of several other maddening choices for the american animoo market, among them, "Why the fuck does it take so long for us to get some of the better series?"

So I finally started watching Death Note.

It's not as bad as I think everything Lyrai recommends to me to be.

It had a perfect ending set up right there!!!  But then they pull a bunch of characters out of their ass, dripping with plot-hole goop.  As Light/Raito/Whateveryouwannacallhim goes insane and out of character and he gets really stupid out of nowhere.

It also sounds like someone kidnapped the professional writer and replaced them with a fanfic writer.

You mean he wasn't stupid for deciding to kill criminals and appointing himself God-Emperor of Mankind rather than just quietly killing criminals in ways relevant to why they were locked up to begin with?  :ohshi~:

That's what I would've done.

Or start an assassination service.  :perfect:
