The subs I'm watching now are pretty not great, lots of easily caught mistakes made over and over again.  But it gets me through the work days.

And then Eiichiro Oda broke me with a single word.
Laboon.
You motherfucker.

You... you just broke me again.  :;_;: :;_;:

That's right up there with
eight-year-old Robin sobbingly laughing Derashi-shi-shi
.

But this! My absolute favorite moment in the series. I'm so close to buying this.

I... just saw a bit of Aquarion over the weekend... :barf:

I guess the reason I don't have anything Front Mission is because people prefer this power-of-friendship bullcrap over stout, trompy-stompy, semi-realistic mechs.

Oh yeah, and I guess everyone hating Front Mission has something to do with it, too. Weaboos, PETA, garage mechanics, the elderly, Michael Jackson's ghost, EVERYONNNNNE.

Regarding the current Haruhi arc:
I was half expecting them to run a 15,500-part episode.  If they ran episodes nonstop, it would only take 264 days at 24.5 minutes/episode to reach the current episode location.
Hey, is Iria as good as I seem to recall it being? Rightstuf has it on sale for $14, and I am totally getting it.

Haven't watched it in years, but I enjoyed it at the time. I think my VHS's ended up with Sharkey after a PDS.

I still own a gigantic "ASK ABOUT ANIME" poster with a pic of Iria on it somewhere (rolled up and stored). Got it from a friend's comic store after it closed down.

Is the series any good? I mean, with this many reviewers, we should be able to establish some kind of composite score.

P.S. Don't send them to me - I have no VCR!

Seemed decent at the time.  I'm kinda anime jaded now, though.  May not have aged well.

It could be worse.  They could've called it "Bananas Hammock."

That would imply more males in the show than I would expect otherwise.

It's one of those romantic comedy (possibly harem) type things, right?

Oh, well then Bananas Hammock would be pretty appropriate!   :perfect:

No, Fruits Basket is totally more appropriate when talking about these particular guys.

(Except Kyo, of course.)

As far as I remember it's pretty typical early 90s sci-fi action. It's fun but not deep. I'm not entirely sure if it's worth $14, but I'm notoriously cheap.
