My cat Syrup is an abnormally tiny fully grown cat - when we found her she was fresh out of a pet store and couldn't have been more than two months old - we suspect her owner probably tossed her outside when she was small enough to still be hawk bait and assumed that they could have a 100% outdoor cat. Fortunately (for me - unfortunately for whoever the stupid owner was) she was tossed out on a day I just happened to come home from work five hours early and I found her in the hallway leading up to my apartment. Tried to find the owner - left a few notes on doors etc, but nobody spoke up so I kept her.
Unfortunately, I'm a cheap and bad cat owner, so she never got spayed and got out a couple of months ago - she'd already gotten out while in heat twice before and nothing ever came from it beyond a phantom pregnancy, and we actually believed she was sterile. Big surprise came the other night when she crawled behind our bed and gave birth to a very small litter of two tiny kittens.
Here she is sitting in her little spot behind our waterbed:
Nursing the grey/black/white kitten whose color I'm really not sure of yet
Here's the orange kitten. They haven't opened their eyes yet and are basically just adorable mewling balls of squirm.
The other kitten was firmly latched on at the time of the picture taking, and I didn't want to disturb it while it was eating. I'll try and get more pictures as they grow. Sadly we will (probably) not be keeping either of the kittens because we already have six cats in the house and three of them are coming with us when we move out. We're almost certainly giving one to a family member though, and one may stay with our in laws who we're living with at the moment, so we'll see what happens.
