I'm mostly irritated in general by it because my coworker keeps her farm dogs and won't get them fixed.  They're constantly having puppies and then she cries at work because the puppies walk onto the highway and get killed.  ARGH.

Yeah, we live in a low traffic area and I usually don't let my cats outside for that very reason. I plan for them all to have very long lives.

2001-2010

You were the only being in the world to ever love me unconditionally. I looked for pictures of my kitty, but this was all I had. But nothing better describes the way she was than this picture. Neko loved to be held, and tolerated all of the hijinks I put her through. She never got mad at me, she never became bitter. If I wanted her to sit on my lap, she was there, no matter what. When we brought other cats in the house, she never became jealous. She just loved them the same way she loved me. When I found my wife, she loved my wife the same way. Never was there a truer or better friend.

I miss you.

Man, this has been an awful month for WFE members and pets. Just awful.

I don't think I have any pictures of them still, but my fiddler crabs I used to have were awesome. I don't recommend them as pets though, they are pretty hard to care for and are great at escaping from any tank.

Their names were Gohma, Clawgrip, Karlboss.

She is rather lovely.

You should put her in a pink dress and take her to a shindig. :3

So we have seven cats in this house. Currently, the wife and I live with her parents; they have three cats:

This is Zorro and Vivi. They're brother and sister and tend to hang out with each other exclusively. Prior to my wife and I getting together, Zorro was her cat ; he hates me deeply for stealing his woman and barely tolerates her. I suspect this may be because I brought a new cat into the house when I moved in. Vivi on the other hand is super chill.

Akiko is a defective pixie-bob. She is pretty clearly more bobcat than housecat - when she's really into a good petting, she starts to bite and shake all over. Really cool cat that likes me a lot, but I have to force attention on her - the cat does not approach anyone in the house willingly except for my mother in law.

Pancake was our second cat after Neko and the first we named after breakfast food. The logic was because he was golden and delicious, pancake would be a good name. My first choice was waffle, tbh. It's summer and we're in Oklahoma, so we've shaved him since he gets outside a lot and it's so fucking hot outside. Also because we wanted to make him look like a lion. He's much more my wife's cat than mine. He likes to sleep in the sink and drinks most of his water directly from the faucet. We found him on the sidewalk a couple blocks down from our house anemic and emaciated about three years ago. He was covered in fleas and barely weighed anything, but now he's quite fat.

Syrup recently had kittens and is our third cat. We got her back in October of 2008, when she was barely weaned - I found her right down the hall from our apartment, with a flea collar on but no tag, and couldn't find out who owned her, so we kept her. I figure she was only about six weeks old and probably out of the pet store for only a few days. Syrup is a weird cat who is either really affectionate or really independent depending entirely on her mood, which changes with lunar cycles, planetary alignment or something that I am otherwise unable to predict. Lately she has been more hyper vigilant and neurotic because of the kittens. She likes to fuck with the other cats, esp. Akiko, to the point where I'd consider it trolling. Her growth was permanently stunted due to worms and fleas as a kitten, and is extremely compact for a full grown cat.

Hashbrown is our boy kitten and seems to be the more advanced of the two. They're now about five weeks old and are getting terribly cute and into everything. He's a climber and keeping him out of things is getting increasingly difficult. He likes to eat cat litter, but refuses to eat cat food. Syrup does not seem to mind nursing, so we're not pushing the weaning just yet.

Coffee is our black/gray/white kitten. We're really not sure what she's going to look like as her patterning on her fur is bizarre - I suspect she may be the kitten of a local Siamese cat, and will probably have a white/black or grey/black fade thing going on once she gets big. She's a whiner and is a couple of days behind her brother, despite being the first born cat and having opened her eyes two days sooner.

And here is syrup with her kittens. She's using Coffee as a pillow in this shot.

Polka has become comfortable enough with me to let me pet her, sometimes pick her up, turn her upside down, and put a leash on her, put her in the pool to see if she can swim (she can!), and train her to be the next Oolong.

Asimov loves raisins.

This is Bradbury. After I took this picture, I realized he was stuck. I got him out, but he wasn't too happy about it...

He needs a big hug if he's sad.
