So my Dog got out. For the second time. In less than three days.

And he made his escape in under three minutes.

Man, fuck that dog. Literally all I can do at the moment is wait for some benevolent stranger to call me up telling they found my dog.

Seriously, fuck you, Dog.

UPDATE: yup, almost on schedule, even. Note to everyone: do not own a Schnauzer.

I got a dog when I was 14, and when I went to school my parents watched him and said he would come live with me when I was out of the dorms.  Well that never happened, and has been a sore spot.

As we were walking out the door of my parents' house yesterday, my mom mentioned that I should say bye to my dog because she was gonna have to have him put down soon.  This was upsetting, naturally, so I asked why.  Well, he barks a lot.  Every time someone knocks on the door these days, he barks. It's really difficult for my mom to deal with, and the dog is obviously losing his mind.  It's too bad he's completely crazy now, she says, considering he's doing better physically than he has at any point in the past ten years.

Well, I was upset, and after talking about it in the car for 5 minutes outside their house, we knocked on the door and my husband walked in and picked up the dog and we left.  A new old addition to the family for Christmas!

Pivo (13), Lucas (3), Ness (7)

By the way he hasn't barked once in the past 24 hours.

Jeez.. It's lucky you were around then. Putting a dog down because it barks is ridiculous. :(

I'm glad you were around to save him.

Pivo may start to bark once he is more comfortable with the new surroundings. Be ready to reinforce being quiet and calming down.

I think we'll be fine. The only example of his barking she gave was when someone knocked on the door.  With the other two dogs, we're used to that already.

I got two more slings today! That's Ezio, a Brazilian red and white, chilling on the right, and Boudicca, a chaco golden knee, making a daring escape on the left.

ALSO:

I took my dogs to get groomed today, and they came back FABULOUS.

Man went to the vet because he'd been looking pretty rough yesterday and he needed to go in for his kidney profile soon anyway.

They had to drain nearly 300 mL of fluid out of his lungs. They thought he had heart failure (he didn't, but that actually surprised everyone), he might either have thyroid problems which are causing serious heart-rate fluctuations and he might also have cancer (it's a coin toss on the cancer, but I'm not super-optimistic here, since that's what his sister died of). Already down $1250 for this. Got to see about a test at an oncologist to see if he has a month to live or a year (or whatever he can manage if it's not cancer) to live.

The more I read of your post the more this seems to be a massive understatement.

The husky is the smart one - she gets the upper ground and then there's nothing that can move her.

My cat is like a big-time successful businessman.

In that he really really likes to just lick feet for hours.

(rest of the time he's just a methhead)

New cats!

Elwood came home yesterday:

...Jake doesn't get out of jail until later this week.

They're five months old, so they're made out of hungry and legs.

Elwood made a sleeping nest out of my dirty laundry. And the laundry pile is between me and the door. I dare not move or make a loud noise or it will scare him away. SEND HELP.
