Those were popular a few years back, but I had neglected to download them before the original ones were taken down.   So score.

Fun fact, that guy is writing Portal 2 and used to be an editor for Cracked.com

Every summer, my hometown of Saint-Hyacinthe hosts the Exposition Agricole, basically an agricultural fair grown up to a major event with music shows and rides and a demolition derby and truck pulling contests and cattle competitions and more of that sort of thing. It has been going for a long time, and it brings around 200,000 visitors from all over the province to our town of 55,000 inhabitants. It's kind of a big deal.

This year, this is their flyer.

To be honest, I'm a little bit terrified here.

Huh. For some reason, I thought you lived farther up, on the north shore, like near Joliette or Trois-Rivières. I have no idea WHY I thought this though.

And yes, that poster is :mikey:

Yes, evil comes in many forms, whether it be a man-eating cow or Joseph Stalin.

I've actually listened to old episodes of The Shadow, and she's totally delusional when she claims it was easy to miss things that were important to the plot. If The Shadow is any indication, old radio serials were about as subtle as keyword-highlighted RPG text is today in terms of being able to miss plot points.

Yeah, we used to have a sunday night radio show that re-ran old serials and they're pretty much exactly waht you'd expect from 40's and 50's radio serials in terms of campy exposition.

As far as that article goes, I must admit I always loved the Andy Griffith show.

Quote
ut Tor.Com claims to have confirmed the casting, and a release date of 2012, with "movie studio sources." (They don't say which studio.) And Russell T. Davies may be the writer.

...

Russell T. Davies is quoted as saying, "There will be brand new concepts and the film will be just as adventurous, scary and humorous as the television programme. But none of us working the film will forget what makes the character great and interesting and the long-time fans will not be disappointed because yes, the Daleks make an appearance." And the article adds that the Doctor travels throughout history curing illnesses that have been caused by aliens, including the Bubonic Plague. More details at the link.

The unnamed movie studio sources who were able to confirm to Tor.Com that Johnny Depp will be playing the Doctor in 2012 were unable to confirm any of these story elements, so let's hope that part is pure fabrication.
