Pfft, my previous boss used to wait for two weeks after you applied to call you back and if you called her more than twice in that time she'd send you the short letter because you were "too desperate".

That's absolutely outrageous.

My uncle is basically the VP of a medium-sized tire company and his policy is the other way around. He expects an applicant to call every day until they're either told no or get the job, otherwise they 'don't want it badly enough'.

So basically in a job search, you're entirely at the crazy whims of everyone who sticks their fingers into HR's business? Thanks for the tip guys!

That is also outrageous.

Glad your Uncle is basically weeding out the people who won't bark on command, though. Keeps his workers from demanding too much fairness or dignity.

I am starving for info on the Libyan civil war so bad (anybody who's still calling it an "uprising" is either incredibly circumspect or in denial). Like I am getting all Gary Brecher in my interest levels here.

For a second I was like "What the hell is so interesting about a random picture of Mike Jordan?", but then I noticed.

That's... hmm.

On a completely unrelated note, the following is a strong contender for the greatest photo ever taken:

Well, now I can see that it's Snoop Dogg, but man, Reuben's head looks flat in that shot.
