we get those keys to the van.

Meant to mention this before, but we aren't in need of another mode of transportation. Separating with two drivers, gaining more attention, and taking care of two fuel gauges... No thanks.

One shot was only to the head, and that's obviously not their vital organs.  The other was at range, and did little damage.

And that was with three armed men ready for it to boot.

To put in clear terms here, you guys are trying to make wine out of piss here. Not every situation will eventually fall into our favor, as evidenced by the last three to four votes.

1. Charge around the side of the house.

Before you can think, you're sprinting around the corner after the dogs and Jacob.

"No! He's gone!" David says from behind you.

You skid around the corner to find blood and body parts splattered everywhere. Both dogs turn to face you over the shredded corpse of what remains of Jacob. His head has been severed at the neck. His eyes stare at you grotesquely.

You fire, but the dog you were aiming at sidesteps as the other spreads out to your right. Spot is directly in front of you, his mangled head vines seeping green blood onto the grass. He leaps with a tremendous roar.

You pump your shotgun and fire into him. He is deflected and falls to the ground, green erupting from his body.

The retriever leaps at nearly the same time, attacking in tandem. You try to dodge, to pump your weapon, but it's no use. He tackles you, the vines wrapping around your head and torso, digging into your flesh. Pain flares all over you. You struggle but the vines are incredibly strong. You hear David firing his rifle. The retriever grunts and growls and you feel yourself being lifted.

You are torn to pieces.

From behind you, you can hear Nicole screaming as your head thumps to the ground and your vision goes dark.

********************************

You have died.

********************************

Thanks for playing, everyone. I had a blast, hope you had fun playing as well.

 Dammit. Sorry everyone. I'd been banking on dealing with the body to require a less-than-simultaneous attack. It turns out it was poor speculation.

This would make a nice, anti-climactic capper to this shitty day if it weren't so far from over.

I would like to point out that I voted to leave Jacob behind.

Before the dogs were an issue.

:OoO: :OoO: This is like finding the best book ever, reading halfway through, and realizing only half the pages were ever there. Or, losing the Never Ending Story.

My horse died, I nearly drowned, and I just barely got away from the nothing. For what?!

I would have voted 2 if I wasn't out and about. I mean, seriously.

The sounds of tearing flesh and the abrupt stop of screaming means he's fucked anyway.

I will not be disappointed if anyone that voted 1 can honestly say to themselves that they would take that action in a real world situation.

I don't think blame needs to be assigned, here. Option 1 was the heroic thing to do. Trying to save a friend is not "stupid" but carries with it a certain amount of risk. In this case, the risk was too high.

Would I have charged around the corner? Probably not, honestly. But I would have felt really bad afterward for running away. I would have always thought back to that moment and wondered if I could have saved Jacob. The answer, it turns out, was no, but I wouldn't have known that for sure.

This is, of course, assuming I gave a shit about him in the first place.

We're all just really big fans of this story.

I didn't mean to sound like I was starting up the "good job guys" drum with my post, if it seemed that way, I was just playing around.

This was awesome and we definitely need more of this type of thing.  Here.

And maybe Nicole can have her own spinoff where she rides a laser dog.
