I feel this pervading sense of nonaccomplishment.  Can't you, like, throw a matchstick into the gas tank and push the car down into the pit, then feel all good about yourself while the Faceless rapes your body with parasites?

The vet clinic houses an arms cache of Patriot Missiles.

All is well. All is well.

1. Head to the vet. You need medical attention and supplies. Other survivors might be there, as well.

You drive for a bit longer. The world around you is halfway recognizable, now. You turn onto a street that should lead you to the vet. You haven't spotted any more faceless since you left the crater.

You are coming up on a gas station. It seems intact. There is a parked semi in the gravel lot behind the pumps and building.

Hmm. Might be food and water inside. Probably. And you could fill up your tank.

On the other hand, it's dark, and you have plenty of gas to make it to the vet as it is. You could come back later.

********************************

1. Ignore it. Continue to the vet.

2. Stop and get gas only. Going into a building in the dark alone with three bullets? No thanks.

3. Stop, fill up, and explore the inside.

2.  We're good on other stuff, but running out of gas while trying to escape in a hurry later would bite.

2.

The vet clinic could be just as worse as the crater. Ditching the car is highly ill-advised.

I'd feel better about this decision if I had a match.

Just one match.

Popping in the cigarette lighter could work.

Please don't listen to Arc.

Arc: I sincerely hope that if you come across a gas station in the dark and are afraid of zombies that you don't light a match while pumping gas.

As uncomfortable as I am going into a truck stop late at night NORMALLY, I am somehow more uncomfortable going into a vet late at night without a flashlight.

The risk involved doesn't outweigh the reward of a well-stocked minimart.  Hopefully the owner of the semi doesn't have an itchy trigger finger.

If the place is crawling, burning it to the ground is ideal.

Such is my life philosophy.

The semi looks deserted. It was probably parked there, empty, at the time of the blast.

It's possible you could find something of value inside. Was planning on it being a future variable if you stuck around the station.

Anywaaaaaay, going to work, want a fresh choice for when I get back, significant amount of time passed, blah blah

2. Stop and get gas only. Going into a building in the dark alone with three bullets? No thanks.

You do a slow circle of the building first, sweeping it with your headlights. No activity. Glancing at Nicole snoozing away with her thumb in her mouth, you pull up next to the pump.

Pipe in hand, gun in pocket, you swing open your door and step to the ground.

You get as far as unscrewing your gas cap when you realize there's a big sign on the pump that says "Please pay cashier before pumping gas."

Hmm. Credit card might be able to get you gas without going inside. But as you open your wallet to fish for it, you realize this is a fairly old pump. Looking closer, you cannot see anywhere to slide your card.

Christ. Looks like you're gonna have to go inside and figure out how to enable to pump from the terminal if you want gas. On the bright side, you might be able to get some supplies.

On the not-so-bright side, it's dark, you don't have any source of light, and there are Resident Evil rejects running around.

The semi parked behind the building seems to regard you with a silent stare.

*********************************

1. Fuck it. You'll go inside. Maybe you can find some light in there.

2. Nope. Time for that vet.

3. You don't want to go inside, but that semi has piqued your curiosity. You'll check it out.

Kind of surprised we couldn't use our headlights to try to light it up.  I guess it was low on window-factor for a gas station.

There were only windows in the front. From what you saw, it was a normal, empty looking mini-mart.

But that's a neat idea that did not occur to me!

New option because sei is smart:

4. Park the car with the engine running, pointed at the front of the building, with the headlights on. Should give you enough light to look around inside safely.

And by the way, you can change your vote at any time. Just try not to be too wishy-washy with it, as it makes it hard to keep track of.

Let's hope nothing decides to attack the car while we're inside.

This really seems like the situation calls for, you know, making a little noise. Alerting monsters is kind of an annoying risk, but if we alert helpful type humans it could be good.

Also... hey... wait a minute. Do we have ANY reason to believe that power's even working here? Those pumps might operate by pressure, but the release for the fuel that's tied to the register sure as hell doesn't!
Well, as much fun as dealing with a faceless while in a car was before, I'm not in any hurry to do it again. It seems like we've almost got better odds on foot.

And to be honest, I'd prefer option 4 if we used the semi instead. Besides, a truck's got to have a radio! Let's reach out and touch someone!

3, because I'm pretty sure friday wants us to.

I... don't want you to do anything. If I wanted a forced narrative, I would have written one.
