5. Study the maps in your car. Maybe you can figure out where you're going to go.

You leave Jacob and head out front. You don't run into anyone, but you can hear Nicole playing somewhere nearby. Your car is right where you left it.

You open the glove compartment and take out the maps.

Hmm. After studying them for a bit, you find a general map of Northern California. Looks like there's another town to the north, about thirty miles. You've been there before. It's smaller than this city but still fairly large. You have no idea what condition it's in. You could find a hospital, or anything else there, perhaps.

Alternatively, you could go west, into the hills. There's a town up there about fifty miles away that you remember driving through on your way to the coast before. You could check it out. Heading to the coast itself is another idea.

Or, you could just head north, into Oregon. Get as far away from this as you can.

You find a map of the town to the north. It's fairly detailed, and shows you exactly where the hospital, and even the airport is.

There's a tapping on the glass. You jump, and turn to see David. You open the door, and he asks you to pop the hood.

You do so. He loads a few bags into the trunk, and walks away. You notice a piece of paper he seems to have dropped onto the seat next to you.

You pick it up.

I think Jacob did it

You crumple the paper, and then rip it up before tossing it in the trash.

More time passes. You look for any more maps. A general one of North American highways. A map of a town you've never heard of, in Idaho. A map of LA. Nope. Not going there. Even if it didn't get nuked, you'd stay the fuck away from that place anyway.

About a half hour later, Jacob, David, and Nicole are ready. You join them for one last tour around the vet.

"So, where are we going, anyway?" asks David.

"That's a good question," says Jacob.

Everyone is silent.

"I think maybe we should head north. I don't want to go into the mountains," David says.

"I think we should head to the mountains. More people up there. If there are survivors, they will have headed to the hills," says Jacob.

"I've been studying the maps," you say. "My vote is..."

1. ... that we should head north to the next town. I have a detailed map of it. We could find the hospital there."

2. ... to go into the mountains. There's a town about fifty miles in. We could get supplies there, and I'm sure there's a hospital."

3. ... that we head out of state. North, to Oregon. I want to get as far away as possible."

1. It sounds like the northern town is better documented, and we know there is a hospital for certain.

I also think it's more likely to head for the next nearest settlement than it is to head for the hills.

Worst comes to worst, we can fill up there again and then go to the hills or Oregon from there.

more people means more faceless

and larger target for an infestation

and there was a bomb dropped somewhere nearby here... a big city might be closer to ground zero

friday, from which direction do we remember seeing the mushroom cloud rising?

If you recall, Guild, the Faceless seem to be centered around the crater that was in our town. They only spread out as food became more sparse in the closer areas.

Assuming ours is the only crater full of worms for the moment, I don't think it's a bad plan.

Hmm.  How did the Faceless smash the generator then get to Nicole so fast, if that's really how slow they walk all the time?  Something strange is going on.  I wonder if Nicole wasn't moving because she was remote-controlling (or simply talking to) Jacob.  Or maybe even...  DAVID

Anyway, 1.

If the faceless that attacked actually destroyed the generator, it would have sent out it's "FOOD HERE" scree before the lights went out. I'm also not convinced that an individual faceless is intelligent enough to destroy the generator, despite the doors and generator being ripped open.

Jacob left to speak to David after informing him of the plan to X-Ray everyone, including himself.

If that was true, he would have been with David when the lights went out. The fact that David suspects him shows this is not the case.

Also, the generator sputtered before going out. I bet it would have gone out a lot more abruptly if it was ripped apart before it was disabled.

The Nicole > Jacob transference theory is starting to make a little more sense.

Agreed, but we shouldn't worry about that until after we get another chance to talk with David. I mean, Knowing Jacob is evil doesn't do us any good. There's no option to kick him out of the group.

Shut up, stupid.  You can hear the generator when it's running so it'd be easy to find if you went and looked for it.
