That the US government once commissioned a report (not long after Russia first gained nuclear weapons) which determined that the minimum number of (high-yield) thermonuclear devices need to destroy the world is a mere 13. Placed strategically, you could theoretically crack the earth's crust.

Even if it turns out to be completely wrong, that is some seriously awesome Bloefeld/Dr. Evil shit.

Amusingly, I heard about this from a friend who is building an Evil-Genius/James Bond villain lair for wargaming and decided to use the report to make a BIG BOARD for the lair, with each location highlighted:

Highlander was already basically an anime.

The Starship Trooper one... really didn't seem to have a whole lot of confidence in its subject matter.

That while Sprint has recently rolled out 4g coverage to my neighborhood, my house is two houses too far down this street for my phone to get 4g reception.

Social Security 101

Not a be-all, end-all guide to social security, but tackles some of the more prevalent issues.  If I hear another one of my "liberal" or "progressive" friends tell me that "We need to fix social security", I'm going to punch them in the face.

In fairness, it's one of those things that's parroted so constantly by Democrats that it's no wonder people on the left have come to treat it as a given.

I mean, one could argue that the social security program as-is fails to provide adequate social security, but I don't think that's the case here.

I don't really expect the country to be standing in 40 years, especially not financially, so whether Social Security is broken or not is not much of an issue for me.

A life of quiet retirement until the Borg come.

Then they will know his name is The Lord when he lays his vengeance upon them.

I learned that you can tell the difference between real and fake pearls by rubbing them on your teeth.

rough = real
smooth = fake

All mine are fake. :(

Tapping them on your teeth also produces results. They feel different.
I can't explain how they feel different, only that after trying for a bit, you can definitely tell which is real pearl.
My grandma got so good she could tell just by touching them.
It's crazy dawg.

The bigger of my two cats is too big for a cat harness.  I will need to return the second harness I got and buy a small dog's harness for him.
