I know someone who has "Every man dies, not every man really lives" tattooed over half his ribs.

Except his tattoo reads "everyman dies not everyman truely lives".

 my friends.

I learned that I really, really, want to learn how to play the Wakfu TCG. Several reasons:

It includes characters from the show,

puns and references,

innuendo* and fanservice,

and straight rips from MTG.

*many of which are only coherent to francophones

Do you understand how terrifying the words “vibrating strap on” are for an asexual? That’s like saying “the holocaust” to a Jew.

Episode 3 Review is now up...

Right around 1:05, Palpatine mentions a 108-page response to the Phantom Menace review.

It's real.

You know, I still haven't watched the Red Letter reviews, because no matter how funny they are, I'd still be spending hours to watch a video whose ultimate purpose is to tell me that the Star Wars Prequels were bad.

I mean, there's Waldorf & Stadtler and there's Waldorf & Stadtler's merciless rule o'er a world without end.

It must boggle your mind that someone not only watched the review all the way through, but went over it with a fine-toothed comb to rebut it point-by-point.

I did kind of like the idiot's guide to filmmaking: why episode 1 was not very good, but this is because I am the kind of dude who needs an Idiot's Guide to things he will never actually need.

EDIT:
That said, I thought I'd watch the eps 2 & 3 reviews and immediately decided that I didn't need to see 2+ videos with 30 minute run times for each. It is enough to do that once.

The thing is RLM actually bothers to give us some valuable information and insight into what went wrong and how things could have been improved, rather than just saying that he would rather eat a dead skunk's asshole repeatedly for 20 minutes straight.

It's honestly quite rare and valuable constructive criticism interlaced with jokes about torturing women.

That there must have been some awesome Doritos commercial during the Super Bowl because everyone is referencing them.

We're on html standard sizes now.  6 is actually really big.
Brentai left out "pt" in the distant past.

All this time, I thought he was singing "bring me a PIE of love."

And now for something a little different. My dad's 50th is tomorrow and to celebrate, my grandparents made a book of pictures of my dad from the day he was born to now and printed off a few copies. Now, I've always known that I get my looks from my dad but I never knew how much we looked a like. We looked nearly identical until both our junior years.

Here's a picture of my dad. If I actually had any pictures of me from when I was a kid, I'd post one.

Today I learned about an interesting quote in Lincoln's first inaugural address:

Quote
"It is not needed nor fitting here that a general argument should be made in favor of popular institutions, but there is one point, with its connections, not so hackneyed as most others, to which I ask a brief attention. It is the effort to place capital on an equal footing with, if not above, labor in the structure of government. It is assumed that labor is available only in connection with capital; that nobody labors unless somebody else, owning capital, somehow by the use of it induces him to labor... Labor is prior to and independent of capital. Capital is only the fruit of labor, and could never have existed if labor had not first existed. Labor is the superior of capital, and deserves much the higher consideration."

I wonder why more "Lincoln-style" Illinois republicans don't use that line more! Thanks.

Elsewhere (I forget where) the Bay of Pigs invasion came up in discussion.

I discovered this interesting Kennedy quote that lay half-buried in the aftermath.

Quote
Kennedy commented to his journalist friend Ben Bradlee, "The first advice I'm going to give my successor is to watch the generals and to avoid feeling that because they were military men their opinions on military matters were worth a damn."

I just learned that my roommate has a case for her chopsticks.

With Pokemon on it.
