It only glows under UV light. And it's not radioactive uranium. And vaseline used to be that color, it's not like they put vaseline in it. I have a relative who collects plates and she's got a few of these.

I still think owning uranium dishware sounds like a terrible idea

I am still trying to understand how a combination of vaseline and uranium equals some form of glass.

it's not like they put vaseline in it.

I learned that ReCaptcha is actually a method used by archivists in transferring written text to digital format. The computers that they use to scan the books sometimes can't recognize some parts of the text for whatever reason, but the human eye allows for a wider margin of error. So they put words from those texts into the ReCaptcha system as part of the verifier. Eventually, enough people agree on what the text says and it is put into the archive.

Or you could be like /b/ and myself and replace the unknown word with "nigger". Not that there aren't better words to use, but there's already precedent for it and I'd really love to see one slip through into publication.

What the hell's going on here.... didn't someone post this exact text a day or two ago in another thread?

SO CONFUSED.

Way back when 4chan first put captcha on it, /g/ or /b/, one of the two, cracked the whole rigamarole and encouraged people to spam such entries as that.
They most likely have autochecks in place now.

I learned that Michael Jackson started wearing his sequined glove to hide the earliest signs of his vitiligo.

That makes sense.

Learned that it's ACTUALLY TRUE:

Quote
When Germany invaded Denmark in World War II, de Hevesy dissolved the gold Nobel Prizes of Max von Laue and James Franck with aqua regia to prevent the Nazis from stealing them. He placed the resulting solution on a shelf in his laboratory at the Niels Bohr Institute. After the war, he returned to find the solution undisturbed and precipitated the gold out of the acid. The Nobel Society then recast the Nobel Prizes using the original gold.[1][2][3]

I let my old webhost lapse, thinking I wasn't using it.  I completely forgot that the secret porn board was there, just like everyone else probably.

So yeah the porn board is finally actually dead.

Oh no.

Ok, so Diablo II: I knew the Dark Wanderer was the Warrior from Diablo I. I had no idea that Blood Raven was the Rogue or that The Summoner was the Sorcerer.

Yeah. Everyone from D1 gets fucked over, PCs, NPCs, everyone. Makes sense, really. At this point I won't be surprised if Deckard Cain turns into Diablo in D3.
